The fund's activities are aimed at helping the most vulnerable Ukrainians: orphans, children with disabilities, internally displaced persons and victims of violence. We evacuate families from the war zone and from the territories temporarily occupied by Russia. Save Ukraine is the only humanitarian organization that regularly organizes rescue missions to return forcibly deported children to Ukraine.

We are expanding the team and are looking for a Coordinator of support programs for families of veterans and families of fallen soldiers.

Main duties

  • Identification of families veterans and families of fallen servicemen with children through active work in communities (community outreach)
  • Building trusting and ethical communication with children, parents and legal guardians using child-centered and family-centered approaches.
  • Comprehensive assessment of the needs of children and families (psychological, social, educational, legal)
  • Analysis of typical needs of families with children to form programmatic solutions
  • Participation in the implementation and development of support programs for families of veterans and families of fallen soldiers with children
  • Development of individual plans for social support of families
  • Establishment and support of cooperation with local authorities, social services, educational institutions, medical institutions, veteran communities and public organizations
  • Development of a partnership network at the community level to ensure comprehensive support for families with with children
  • Documentation of family cases, maintenance of databases of aid recipients and monitoring of program results
  • Preparation of family stories (case stories) for reporting, partner communications and fundraising in compliance with ethical standards and principles of child protection
  • Communication with partners and donors regarding the needs and results of support programs

Requirements for candidate(s)

  • Experience of working with families with children in vulnerable life circumstances
  • Practical experience of community outreach and social support of families (case management)
  • Experience of assessing the needs of children and parents/guardians
  • Experience of participating in the formation or implementation of family and child support programs
  • Understanding the principles of child safeguarding and ethical work with minors
  • Experience of interaction with psychologists, social services, educational institutions and public organizations
  • Basic knowledge in the field of social protection, rights of children, veterans and families of victims
  • High communication skills, empathy, responsibility and confidentiality
  • Readiness for field work in communities (if necessary)
