SAFEMed will support the improvement of medical knowledge and skills primary care workers regarding the handling of anti-tuberculosis (TB) drugs.
For this activity, SAFEMed proposes to conduct an in-depth analysis to assess the current level of involvement of primary care providers in the management and use of TB drugs. This analysis will focus on identifying gaps in providers' knowledge, processes and practices, as well as exploring legislative gaps that may affect effective TB care. Based on the results of the analysis, the consultant will develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) for primary care medical workers. These SOPs should detail the supply chain of drugs to the patient - from the moment of receipt of drugs at the regional level directly to the dispensing of these drugs to patients, which will ensure the improvement of medical care for TB patients in the future. EDUCATION REQUIRED:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in health care, health system management, biomedical engineering, law and/or related field.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Desirable:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in public health programs or public health system reform.
- At least 5 years of experience in healthcare system management, with an emphasis on developing standard operating rooms procedures,
- Experience in providing technical assistance for public health programs/projects,
- Experience in managing and providing medical care with anti-tuberculosis drugs,
- Experience working with national health care institutions, preferably those responsible for the prevention and treatment of tuberculosis.
