GENERAL INFORMATION

BF "Right to Defense" (hereinafter - the Fund) is a sector leader in the protection of people who have suffered from war, veterans, refugees and stateless persons. We seek recovery and integration for those we help. Our team protects people's rights and influences laws and decisions in Ukraine and the world to become fairer. We are actively developing a network of partners for localized support of those who need it. The fund is 13 years old. Today, the team of BF "Right to Defense" has about 1,200 specialists. Geography: 22 regions of Ukraine, as well as a representative office in Poland. More than 3,300,000 people have received aid since the start of the full-scale invasion. Our work was recognized at the national level: in 2024, the Foundation won first place in the "Charity Ukraine" competition in the "All-Ukrainian Charity" category, entered the top 10 of the Forbes Ukraine "50 Best Charitable Organizations" rating, and took 9th place in the integrity rating of charitable foundations of Ukraine.

The "PATH: Protection, Assistance, Togetherness and Hope" project, aimed at comprehensive and multi-sectoral assistance for people with disabilities, the elderly, women, the most vulnerable girls and boys and their carers, many of whom face isolation and barriers to access humanitarian services. Project geography: Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Poltava, Kirovohrad, Vinnytsia, Cherkasy, Mykolaiv, Zaporizhzhya, Donetsk regions. We provide support to internally displaced persons (in particular, those living in temporary accommodation), vulnerable categories of the local population, as well as local civil society organizations. Aid is provided with the support of the Humanitarian Fund for Ukraine (HFU/UHF).

Our goal is to strengthen the public environment at the level of communities and individuals by directly responding to the needs of internally displaced persons and other affected population groups, as well as developing the capacity of the state and civil society to identify and implement long-term solutions.

The Protection Cluster Co-Coordinator of the Fund will work with the Protection Cluster Coordinator of the Office of the High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Ukraine to support the Cluster's coordination role. The co-coordinator will work on improving the representation of local and national NGOs in the activities of the Cluster (localization), strengthening advocacy in the field of protection and building cooperation with state authorities.

Cluster's meetings with industry and external stakeholders;

  • Definition of the main issues of consultation-based cluster/inter-cluster advocacy;" none">Contributing to the strengthening of national legislation and the search for long-term solutions;

  • recommendations;

  • Help in consistent interpretation and application of international law and relevant legal standards of the IPC and protection policy;

  • Participation in inter-cluster meetings and subgroups;

  • on protection of Cluster members, other local partners and relevant authorities;

  • Facilitating coordination and carrying out cluster or inter-cluster assessments of protection needs, including assessment with the participation of the affected population;

  • Ensuring compliance in the activities of the Cluster with regard to age, gender and diversity;

  • the Cluster's receipt of international human rights documents, the Guiding Principles of Internal Displacement, as well as other relevant international and regional documents;

    Co-coordinator of the Foundation and Program Director.

    • Preparation of high-quality and timely reports in accordance with the instructions of management and donors within agreed deadlines;

    • Adherence to all relevant policies and procedures Foundation, in particular regarding the code of conduct.

    PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

    • Excellent understanding of protection issues, gender-based violence and the protection of children's rights in emergencies and detailed knowledge of protection principles and humanitarian principles;

    • Good understanding of the approach and architecture of the UN humanitarian cluster;

    • Excellent advocacy and representation skills, including the ability to build effective and working relationships to facilitate communication within the Cluster and with various stakeholders;

    • Good leadership qualities;

    • Fluency in English and Ukrainian, both spoken and written.

    • Experience in developing strategic documents and conducting assessments;

    • Excellent analytical and report writing skills.

    • Experience in facilitating seminars and trainings;

    • Excellent interpersonal skills;

    • Ability to work well under pressure and in adverse conditions.

    • Performing duties with gender sensitivity and zero tolerance for sexual harassment;       

    • Self-motivation;

    • Flexibility.
