DRB is currently looking for a highly qualified Chief Specialist in Economic Developmentto work in our office in Kyiv.
General purpose of the role:
The Chief Economic Development Project Specialist will manage strategy and development of this direction, will support its implementation through technical guidance, capacity building of staff and teams, harmonization of tools and approaches in all country offices, and will also maintain relevance of data and information on economic recovery to support displaced and affected population groups.

Your primary responsibilities will be:< /strong>
Coordination and Representation
- Collaborate with relevant internal and external technical experts on issues related to related to economic recovery
- Represent the DRB at relevant coordination meetings (FSL cluster, technical working groups, etc.)
- Ensure the integration of economic recovery activities with other sectors of the DRB
- Coordinate work with colleagues from other sectors in other regions on the implementation of projects financed with joint funds
- Ensure proper representation and support of the sector's reputation at all levels
- Participate actively in internal coordination meetings
- Ensure and actively participate in regular sector meetings
- In close collaboration with the Head of Program Activities and the Head of Representation, identify and lead advocacy messages and/or activities at the national level based on information analysis , received from the field offices of the DRB and other primary sources regarding the situation with displaced persons in Ukraine, and manage them.
Sectoral strategy and technical supervision
- Lead the development and implementation of the economic recovery strategy of DRB in Ukraine and the accompanying strategy that guides program development
- Lead development and quality assurance of economic recovery programs in Ukraine and provide recommendations/support for obtaining timely results in the field of economic recovery.
- Lead the development and implementation of relevant tools, assessments, SOPs, guidelines, etc., that support the implementation of high-quality and of science-based economic recovery programs
- Support effective implementation of the economic recovery program
- Ensure harmonization of tools and approaches to economic recovery in all offices
- Support the use of market assessment and analysis, and applying market systems approaches to achieve economic recovery outcomes
- Provide technical oversight of economic recovery staff and identify training needs
- Support the development of economic recovery expertise in the country in each sector, as well as support the national staff capacity building program.
- In cooperation with regional managers, provide support in the recruitment of economic recovery staff
- Provide regular support to program teams in the implementation of projects, assist in solving problems and issues, as well as ensure a high and standardized level of quality in all areas and projects.
Project development and reporting
Provide assistance in the development of project plans and budgets for funding, support proposals and reports in the field of economic recovery
In coordination with the DRB Grants Department, support in the development/review of high quality proposals and reportsLead development of project monitoring and evaluation tools in coordination with the data monitoring and evaluation departmentSupport fundraising with donors in the field of economic recovery; identifying opportunities for new and alternative sources of funding (including market solutions)For all DRB positions, it is required that individuals who possess, possessed the key competencies identified by the DRB:
