"Tenth of April" is a public organization that implements the UNHCR program aimed at improving the protection of internally displaced persons (IDPs), the population affected by the conflict, by providing legal, social, psychological and humanitarian assistance, promoting legislative changes, and involving communities to respond to emergencies and find long-term solutions, in cooperation with the authorities and by supporting their capacity, with a special focus on the most vulnerable groups. The public organization "Tenth of April" applies the principles of equal opportunities and diversity in its personnel policy. Responsibilities:

Under the guidance of the social support coordinator and in close cooperation with other project specialists, the Social Worker has the following duties:

  • carry out initial identification and determination needs of recipients of assistance under the project;
  • provide individual social support for persons who need assistance in accessing social services, including physical support to state institutions
  • provide individual advisory support to facilitate access to social services;
  • make referrals to other project specialists for legal, psychological and other types of assistance assistance;
  • conduct the formation and processing of cases, document circulation, in accordance with the established methodology;
  • conduct the selection, updating, addition of information on the availability and accessibility of certain services for the recipients of assistance under the project;
  • make regular visits to centers/places of accommodation of assistance recipients to performassigned duties;
  • dispense humanitarian and other
  • non-food aid according to the established methodology, if
  • if available;
  • cooperate with representatives of government bodies, enterprises, institutions, organizations, public activists, community representatives with the purpose of initial identification of aid recipients, while providing them with assistance, to exchange information about opportunities;
  • carry out general monitoring of the availability of the realization of rights and freedoms for target categories, identify facts of discriminatory treatment of aid recipients;
  • participate in all meetings, meetings, committees related to project implementation as instructed by the management;
  • submit daily reports on the results of their work and other reports with the established periodicity management.

Qualification requirements:

  • General understanding of humanitarian principles.
  • Bachelor's degree in humanities, social sciences or other
  • relevant field.
  • Experience in humanitarian projects welcome.
  • Knowledge of spoken and written Ukrainian language. Knowledge of spoken and written English is welcome.
  • Excellent computer skills (MS Office required).
  • Willingness to travel.
  • Availability of a personal PC. Skills required:
  • Ability to listen to understand the needs, requirements and preferences of individuals and project stakeholders.
  • Written and verbal communication skills to effectively advise, negotiate and report.
  • Empathy to express genuine concern for the needs of individuals and willingness to respond.
  • Resilience and psychological maturity to work with the vulnerable categories of citizens.
  • Tolerant behavior with the goal of respecting people of different cultures, ages, genders, races, religions, traditions.
  • Negotiation skills to facilitate processes with project stakeholders who have different levels of power and decision-making capacity.
  • Time management skills to analyze workload, prioritize and maintain focus on specific tasks.
  • Critical thinking to objectively analyze needs and advantages and find the best solution.
