Role purpose :
< span style="font-weight: 400; font-style: normal">Under the overall direction of the Program Manager and technical direction, the Case Management Technical Advisor will support the development and implementation of the overall case management program in the Northern Regional Office and surrounding territories. The Case Management Coordinator will be responsible for the coordination, supervision and support of case management staff, other interested staff and service providers/sectors in the case management process. He/she will work closely with the Psychosocial Worker (PSS) and other concerned Government of Ukraine, SCI sectors to ensure that the case management response complements and contributes to strengthening the functions and capacity of the Government of Ukraine social workers.
Basic responsibilities:
- Support case managers/assistants from SC and partners.
- Maintain transparent and diplomatic cooperation with the Government of Ukraine in coordination with the Coordinator CP/MHPSS, maintain open and professional relationships with team members, promote team spirit and provide supervision and guidance to enable employees to perform their duties successfully .
- Ensuring the provision of case management and alternative care services in accordance with the SCI Case Management Guidelines and Standards in Ukraine and CPSS/IA.
- Support outreach to identify vulnerable children according to agreed vulnerability criteria. While the search is ongoing, initiate temporary, family-based alternative care for unaccompanied and separated children ("UASC"), including foster care families, supported independent living
- Oversee proper identification and screening, as well as follow-up and monitoring of foster families/alternative family forms of care.
- Develop work goals with all social workers and provide regular feedback, individual meetings and appraisals. Conduct regular case audits and verify adherence to protocols and principles.
- Check case planning and follow-up of cases, as well as ensure management of all cases in an acceptable time frame based on case priority criteria.
- Provide technical support to caseworkers in complex child protection cases.
- Review staff workloads to ensure they are manageable and share issues with senior management.
- Monitor response times, decision-making, placement, follow-up and review. Ensure internal referral mechanisms are in place (together with other sectors) and proper management and follow-up of cases after referral. span>
- Review and analyze trends in case work to inform program development.
- Provide information to relocating IDP families on how to best protect their children, with links to service providers.
- Maintain and update a map of existing services to which children and families can be referred.
- < span style="font-weight:400; font-style: normal">Build collaborative relationships with organizations and service providers at local level and support social workers to ensure effective referral and collaboration.
To be successful, you must have:
- At least 1 year of experience in a development organization and at least 6 months of experience in case management or child protection in general.
- Experience working with vulnerable and at-risk groups
- Experience managing field personnel
- Experience in conducting/facilitating trainings, meetings
- Bachelor's degree in social work, social sciences or other relevant discipline.
- Knowledge of child protection and emergency response.
- Planning and organizing, analytical thinking, problem solving and decision making.
- The level of English is above average.
