Job description

> on-going emergency response The International Medical Corps underpins the department's capacity building, including the work and training of national staff and direct recipients of the organization's services. normal; font-style: normal">Main Tasks and ResponsibilitiesParticipate in the initial rapid assessment of the condition of connecting structures and systems of water supply, sanitation, hygiene (WASH) to implement the integrated program and to ensure that the selection of the WASH event location takes into account international standards for Water, Sanitation and Hygiene systems in collaboration with the WASH team (engineering specialist, manager and coordinator).
Support implementation of Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) systems in locations in: medical facilities, communities (urban and rural), shelters, schools, educational institutions, including water supply (centralized and decentralized water supply systems, source selection, storage, treatment and distribution) and sanitation (sewerage systems), toilets) according toname of WASH specialist and manager;
As directed by the WASH Specialist and Manager, support the implementation of in place of solid waste, vector control, and drainage systems that fully consider local conditions, resources, customs, and cultural norms for COVID-related facilities.
Promote the proper promotion of health and hygiene among staff, patients and their caregivers;
Implement the most appropriate infection prevention and control measures (disinfection of work surfaces , disinfection of WASH facilities, cleaning, disinfection and sterilization), taking full account of local conditions, resources, customs and cultural norms;
Work closely with/supervise contractors for maintenance and repair of water supply and sewage facilities in health care facilities and public institutions;
Ensure that SPHERE and WHO standards (both qualitative and and quantitative) are considered throughout the program cycle and are well documented;
Provide the team with regular updates and technical guidance on progress, priorities and problems - orally and in writing. In addition, it is necessary to work closely with the WASH team (professional and manager) to obtain the necessary technical guidance and directions for the WASH intervention.

Minimum requirements
Bachelor's degree (preferably in engineering communications, civil engineering, or having a special qualification in engineering communications).
Minimum one year of work experience in designing and implementing Water Supply equipment, sanitation and hygiene (design of centralized and decentralized water supply and sewage systems) in emergency situations; or an equivalent combination of education and experience;
Good knowledge and understanding of the Water Supply, Sanitation, Hygiene, and its hardware and software;
Ability to effectively present information (both written and verbal) and respond appropriately to questions from senior management in the field , colleagues and higher government.
Ability to understand gender issues in service recipient groups.
Fluency in English (preferred).
Would be an advantage p>
Experience in various phases of emergency response including assessment, development and implementation effective hygiene promotion measures in a humanitarian and development context;
Experience in WASH activities compatible with other humanitarian sectors;
Knowledge of languages (Ukrainian, Russian, English).
