Senior PHP Engineer (php / js) in SyncWords

About position

We are looking for an experienced Senior/Lead PHP Engineer who is ready to join the creation of a SaaS platform in the world of hyper-growth of media – you might have experienced how many videos emerged in the last years. We implement our own ML algorithms and use existing ones for delivering better Captioning, Subtitling, and AI Dubbing (in both Live streaming and pre-recorded video) for customers like Amazon, Sony, Netflix, and many others.

What will you deal with?

– Develop a high-load video streaming Live platform

– Design the architecture of the system within the team

– Analyze raw business needs to implement them in a scalable manner

– Actively contribute to the process of tasks decomposition and decision-making regarding the implementation

– Find bottlenecks, optimize systems, and design database

– Engage in cross-code review, writing tests for the system, training other engineers

You’ll be able to handle the tasks above if you have

– Strong working experience as a PHP backend engineer

– Experience related to React/Node.js tasks 

– PostgreSQL/NGINX

– Experience building RESTful APIs

– Knowledge of DB Architecture principles

– Understanding of design patterns

– Strong knowledge of Git and CI / CD for tests 

And it will be much easier for you to work if you have (as bonus skills)

– Good Laravel experience would be a bold plus

– Experience with AWS (Cognito / Lambda / Console, etc.) 

– Experience in holding leadership roles

– Experience with Agile software methodology

– English - Intermediate+ (should understand tech verbal descriptions and be able to express yourself and understand native speakers during regular meetings)
