Network Security Engineer IRC161913 in GlobalLogic

Description:

This project is developing cloud based product capabilities & features in various areas of the Mobility ecosystem. This can include areas like Cloud Services, Autonomous Driving, Data Analytics, and Mobility Services. To support these new capabilities & features in the product roadmap thru 2022 & 2023, software engineering resources need to be scaled in a timely and effective manner with proven partners that have already been vetted by procurement. Team will be dynamically composed of a range of software development roles based on defined needs from stakeholders.

NOTE: Have to work in PST time zone.

Requirements:

Planning, engineering, and monitoring the network security arrangements for the protection of the applications/systems utilizing Azure network security best practices.

Working with Platform Operations to define baseline security network policies for establishing internal and external communication. E.g. VNets, NSG’s, Private Endpoints, Service Endpoints.

• Identifying, monitoring, and defining network security requirements towards overall security efforts.
• Creating different ways to solve existing network threats and security issues by participating in security reviews
• Work with SRE’s and Infrastructure teams to check the system for weaknesses in software and hardware.
• Configuring and installing security infrastructure devices. E.g. Azure VM’s
• Determining latest technologies and processes to improve the overall network security of applications/systems
• Work with Security Operations to adhere and/or implement NIST 800-115 guidelines (Technical Guide to Information Security Testing and Assessment)

Operations:

• Configuring and implementing intrusion/threat detection systems and firewalls alongside Security Analysts and Engineers
• Maintaining firewalls, virtual private networks, and web protocols.
• Assist in Investigating security alerts and incidents and carrying out actionable items to improve overall network security efforts
• Developing and Reporting networking security analysis and monitoring findings.
• Validate network security requirements, adoption and implementation through the deployment process
• Modifying the technical, legal, and regulatory aspects of the system security.
• Defining and maintaining network security policies.
• Continuously review network security system protocol and architecture for deployed applications/systems.

Job Responsibilities:

• The main task of the network security engineer is to plan, design, optimize, implement, audit, and troubleshoot network security.
• AC applications/systems focused and hosted on Azure Cloud.
• The role will focus on network security as part of Security Operations efforts for the organization.
• The network security engineer will work alongside security analysts and engineers protect the network from threats and vulnerabilities that could attack the systems.
• A network security engineer’s responsibilities are multifaceted as they’ll have to make the system as secure as possible from a networking stand-point.
