Job description
We are seeking an experienced Zendesk Developer/Administrator to configure and maintain our Zendesk ticketing system. The primary responsibility will be implementing advanced approval workflows and automation processes using the Approval plugin.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up multi-level approval flows within Zendesk based on hub location, hierarchical structure, and department
- Configure approval routing to send requests to immediate supervisors, with escalations if no response within set timeframes
- Ensure approval processes capture all relevant request details for future reference and searchability
- Build logic to separate and handle requests by department and request type
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand approval requirements across functions
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for all workflows and processes
- Provide training to agents and end-users on using the approval workflows
- Continuously optimize workflows for efficiency and incorporate new requirements
- Monitor system health, resolve issues, and provide ongoing administration

Job requirements
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Zendesk Developer/Administrator or a similar role.
- English level — upper-intermediate or higher
- Strong understanding of Zendesk’s architecture, APIs, and customization capabilities.
- Proficient in programming languages such as JavaScript, Ruby, or Python.
- Familiarity with web development technologies (HTML, CSS, JSON, REST APIs).
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
