About the job
The ICRC WEC Working Unit seeks a competent a Weapon Contamination (WEC) Field Manager to join our team in Dnipro. This role is responsible for WEC programme at the field level, in coordination with the sub-delegation’s Management and the WEC Team Leader/Specialist covering her/his area of responsibility. S/he contributes directly to staff safety, continuation of critical operations, support to the vulnerable and support to National Societies in situations where conventional or non-conventional weapon contamination poses a hazard. S/he promotes an integrated approach to addressing the impact of weapon contamination.

Your Tasks and Responsibilities
- Manage the project input for the Planning for Results (PfR) process, ensuring WeC activities are fully integrated into, facilitates, and complements other aspects of ICRC assistance and protection programming
- Ensure the necessary resources are mobilized and available for the implementation of the plan of action
- Ensure all necessary information is shared and decisions are taken transparently. Consult and include the WeC team in decision making processes that affect their work
- Ensure that lessons learned in operational activities are integrated into the development of related tools, methodologies, and procedures
- Establish and maintain proactive coordination with government authorities, UN bodies, NGOs, academic institutions, and private sector actors on WeC-related matters
- Provide training, mentoring, orientation, and support to national mine action structures and/or other relevant actors, such as the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement components active in the context
- Represent the ICRC in national and international forums related to mine action and weapon contamination, and promote collaboration with external stakeholders
- Coordinate with victim assistance and legal teams to ensure a consistent and coherent institutional approach to weapon contamination
- Oversee and support the work of WeC staff, providing leadership, direction, and operational coordination

About you
To be successful as WEC Field Manager in the Weapon Contamination Work Unit, you should possess the following qualifications and experiences and have the following characteristics:
- Ukrainian citizenship or permanent residence permit in Ukraine
- Advanced university degree (master’s level or equivalent) in a relevant field such as humanitarian affairs, international relations, military studies, engineering, or risk management, OR First-level university degree (bachelor’s level or equivalent) in a relevant field with a minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience, OR Military or relevant police background at officer level or senior non-commissioned officer (NCO) level with at least 11 years of relevant experience in planning, operations, or training
- Demonstrated experience in management, operational planning, and the implementation of training or capacity-building programs
- Proven experience as a successful team leader or field manager in humanitarian, development, or defense-related settings
- Excellent written and spoken command of English and Ukrainian
- Solid computer proficiency, including use of Microsoft Office and operational information tools
- Good knowledge of International Mine Action Standards (IMAS) and contemporary practices in mine action or explosive hazard management
- Understanding of risk management principles, particularly in conflict or post-conflict environments
- Familiarity with the roles, mandates, and ethical standards of international humanitarian organizations
- Self-motivated with a strong commitment to teamwork and humanitarian principles
- Flexible, enthusiastic, and willing to learn
- Ability to work independently, as well as effectively under supervision
- Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks
- Ability to work within a diverse team and establish and maintain good working relations in a multi-ethnic, multi-cultural, and multi-disciplinary environment
