About the job
The ICRC Water and Habitat (WatHab) Department is seeking a highly capable Water and Habitat (WatHab) Technician to join our team in Kharkiv. As a team member and in close collaboration with Water and Habitat Engineers, a Water and Habitat Technician contributes to development of engineering projects components (Energy, Mechanical and/or Hydraulic) or small or non-complex engineering projects, monitors on-site works, assists and carries out needs assessments and surveys. A Water and Habitat (WatHab) Technician has a close working relationship with external stakeholders related to the Water and Habitat projects.

Your Tasks and Responsibilities
- Develop and manage energy engineering projects components, including renewable energy
- Draw up documents (drawings, bills of quantities, contracts, etc.) for energy engineering projects components using approved formats; monitor project implementation for compliance with project documents, ICRC standards, and local building codes/standards, ensuring corrective action is taken where necessary
- Assess, collect and compile technical information relating to energy sector in Ukraine, in particular in Kharkiv, Sumy and Poltava regions
- Participate in the preparation of tender documentation (including bills of quantities, specifications)
- Participate in the preparation of contractual documents, including advertisement, detailing payment terms, selection of winning contractor through criteria, and collaborate with Logistics who organize payment according to measured works and ensure procedures and confidentiality are respected
- Supervise contractors working on project sites and conduct quality control of infrastructure installed by the ICRC
- Monitor and supervise the implementation, especially contracted works of energy related projects in the field and prepare work progress reports
- Train or organize training for end-users in the operation and maintenance of infrastructure installed by the ICRC

About you
To be successful as Water and Habitat (WatHab) Technician in the Water and Habitat Department, you should possess the following qualifications and experiences and have the following characteristics:
- Ukrainian citizenship or permanent residence permit in Ukraine
- Technical background is an asset
- Technical vocational training, apprenticeship (in plumbing, electricity, masonry or related discipline), or equivalent professional experience
- 1–2 years of professional experience in plumbing, masonry, electrical installation, or related field
- Basic command (spoken and written) of English
- Professional fluency in Ukrainian
- Flexible, enthusiastic, and willing to learn
- Ability to work independently, as well as effectively under supervision
- Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks
- Ability to work within a diverse team and establish and maintain good working relations in a multi-ethnic, multi-cultural, and multi-disciplinary environment
