INTRODUCTION
BF "Right to Defense" (Fund) is a Ukrainian human rights organization that actively works to protect the rights and interests of internally displaced persons (IDPs) and the population affected by armed aggression, refugees and stateless persons . The Foundation's program activities include, among other things, the provision of legal assistance, monitoring, advocacy, as well as strengthening the potential of civil society.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION p>
Project of the Fund"Just Ukraine: Empowering Communities for Access to Justice» aimed at strengthening the protection and support of IDPs, the population, victims of armed aggression and stateless persons by identifying and providing a response to the specific needs, challenges and systemic barriers these persons face in accessing justice in Ukraine.
DUTIES AND TASKS
The transitional justice expert, as a member of the project team, will report to and report to the Social Cohesion and Understanding Coordinator and the Project Manager.

Implementation of the project
Work autonomously with the scope of tasks and activities determined by the Coordinator for Social Cohesion and Understanding, as well as the Project Manager, in the field of transitional justice and social cohesion;
Prepare projects of analytical and monitoring reports according to the direction in the field of transitional justice, determined by the Coordinator for Social Cohesion and Understanding, as well as documents accompanying these activities;
Prepare training and educational programs, conduct trainings, etcinformation activities on transitional justice issues;
Monitor trends in the development of practice and legislation in the field of transitional justice, inform the management of the Fund and members of the social cohesion and understanding team about major changes;< /p>
Organize and hold events and meetings with key figures/stakeholders at the national, regional and local levels (round tables, conferences, expert discussions, etc.) on behalf of the Coordinator for Social Cohesion and Understanding; prepare reports and recommendations based on their results;
On behalf of the Coordinator for Social Cohesion and Understanding, conduct communication with local and national mass media on issues of access to justice, participate in radio and television broadcasts, speak, voicing the position of the Foundation, at conferences, forums and/or other events;
< span style="font-weight: 400; font-style: normal; text-decoration: none">To identify regulatory gaps and shortcomings in the legislation of Ukraine related to issues of transitional justice, to propose necessary changes and improvements in order to improve legal regulation in this area;
Develop drafts of new legal acts, including amendments to current legislation, regulations and instructions to resolve identified problems;
li>Prepare drafts of letters, requests/appeals and other documents necessary for the effective implementation of advocacy activities, maintain communication with state and local authorities in order to resolve a wide range of issues in the field of transitional justice; p>
Consolidate analytical information, prepare draft articles, other materials to highlight changes in legislation, gaps that need to be eliminated, as well as existing problems of IDPs and the population affected by armed aggression;
Be in touch with the Fund's partners to monitor the situation regarding the affected population in Ukraine;
On assignment to represent the Fund at all relevant coordination forums with partner organizations and stakeholders;
Support the activities of the Foundation in any other necessary respects and provide advice to the staff of the Foundation on any legal matters as may be required.
Regularly coordinate the results of activities with the social cohesion and understanding team to ensure the implementation of the direction strategy and/or make changes to it, if necessary;
Prepare high-quality and timely reports in accordance with the instructions of the donors in the specified terms, as well as internal reports in the Foundation;
Comply with all relevant policies and procedures of the Foundation, including the Code of Conduct.
PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Higher education in the field of law, scientist;
Confirmed experience of analytical and scientific work in the field of law and/or international law, in particular transitional justice;
Experience in training work will be an advantage;
Confirmed knowledge in the field of transitional justice and the protection of the rights of IDPs. Experience in humanitarian aid, international human rights standards, development policy and research will be a significant advantage;
li>Excellent ability to communicate effectively in English and Ukrainian both orally and in writing;
Proven ability to develop and compile quality documents/materials, including strategic and research documents, etc.;
Excellent understanding of the situation regarding IDPs and the population affected by armed aggression;
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail;
Readiness for business trips within Ukraine;
Cultural sensitivity and diplomacy;
Fair treatment of all people without favoritism;
Complying with all commitments regarding gender sensitivity and zero tolerance for sexual harassment;
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines;
