GENERAL INFORMATION
BF "Right to Defense" (Fund)- a charitable foundation operating in partnership with HIAS, a global organization on providing assistance to refugees. The Foundation focuses on providing assistance to internally displaced persons, persons in need of international protection, stateless persons, high-risk stateless persons and undocumented persons. The Fund is an executive partner of the UNHCR and implements programs for the provision of direct legal assistance throughout Ukraine, and also promotes changes in the national legal base, bringing it into line with international standards in the field of human rights.
< span style="font-weight: 400; font-style: normal; text-decoration: none">The project, within which the vacancy is open, offers to cover the most critical needs for heating in winter as part of the support of the plan of preparation for winter in Ukraine for 2024 -2025, as an urgent need to mitigate the consequences of harsh winter weather conditions. R2P will work on providing heating measures in the winter period to the most vulnerable sections of the population - especially women, the elderly, children and persons with disabilities living in households in the Kharkiv and Dnipropetrovsk regions (for host communities, returnees, IDPs, evacuees), and also for people living in collective centers in Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Vinnytsia, Cherkasy, and Poltava regions.< br/>
BF "Right to Defense" is looking for a candidate for the position span>A specialist in monitoring the situation of IDPs in the city of Dnipro (Dnipropetrovsk region).< /span>
DUTIES AND TASKS
Under the direct supervision of the Senior Monitoring Specialist, and the overall supervision of the Protection Coordinator, the employee shall:
according to the approved plan, make trips to the communities in order to fulfill the tasks provided for by the project;
monitor compliance with the rights and freedoms of internally displaced persons (hereinafter - IDPs) and persons injured as a result of hostilities, on a permanent basis in the given locations according to the existing methodology;
li>to establish relations with representatives of Frlocal self-government bodies, institutions that provide social services for the population, and administrations of places of compact residence of IDPs;
communicate with IDPs, victims of hostilities, representatives of government institutions and non-governmental organizations , to collect information about the humanitarian situation in general;
< span style="font-weight: 400; font-style: normal; text-decoration: none">according to the existing methodology, to assess the needs of IDPs, the affected population, as well as institutions that provide social and other types of services for the population. span>
take an active part in collecting the necessary documents for further assistance;
take direct part in the transfer of material values;
accompany the distribution of humanitarian aid with the necessary documentation
conduct post-distribution monitoring;
take part in local and national research in the field of protection.
identify potential beneficiaries and refer them to legal, social and psychological support specialists;
if necessary, provide non-legal advice for IDPs and the population affected by hostilities;
provide comprehensive support in organizing the work of other specialists of the mobile group;
to submit timely reports on the results of monitoring visits;
timelyand fully display information about individual and group work with beneficiaries in the IDPs CRM system;
observe the Foundation's Code of Conduct;
perform other tasks as needed.
Professional requirements
higher education (preferably: sociology, law, journalism);
preferred knowledge of human rights;
willingness to work in the "fields" (outside the office);
willingness to travel a lot and work overtime;
knowledge and understanding of the legislation on IDPs and the territory of the OOC;
ability to collect information in accordance with the goals and objectives of the project;
skills to prepare reports (analytical, on a separate incident, etc.);
understanding humanitarian principles;
excellent communication skills, readiness for daily communication with people (IDPs, representatives of government institutions, etc.);
self-motivation;
flexibility.
Accommodation in the specified locationand awareness of the local situation will be significant advantages. Preference will also be given to IDPs who have lost their jobs due to displacement.
