GENERAL INFORMATION
BF "Right to Defense" (hereinafter - the Fund) is a sector leader in the protection of people who have suffered from war, veterans, refugees and stateless persons. We seek recovery and integration for those we help. Our team protects people's rights and influences laws and decisions in Ukraine and the world to become fairer. We are actively developing a network of partners for localized support of those who need it. The fund is 13 years old. Today, the team of BF "Right to Defense" has about 1,200 specialists. Geography: 22 regions of Ukraine, as well as a representative office in Poland. More than 3,300,000 people have received aid since the start of the full-scale invasion. Our work was recognized at the national level: in 2024, the Foundation won first place in the "Charity Ukraine" competition in the "All-Ukrainian Charity" category, entered the top 10 of the Forbes Ukraine "50 Best Charitable Organizations" rating, and took 9th place in the integrity rating of Ukrainian charitable foundations.
PULSE (Protection, Unity, Leadership, Support, Empowerment) is the first national consortium of civil society organizations that have combined their unique expertise to protect and assist war victims. It is financed with the support of UK aid from the government of Great Britain, implemented under the coordination of the BF "Right to Defense". Support for this project in Ukraine by the government of Great Britain is provided through the SHARP component of its Humanitarian Aid, Rehabilitation and Protection Program.
In the period from September 2025 to March 2028, the Fund will implement measures to monitor protection, provide legal aid, increase access to basic services and build community resilience in the regions of Ukraine: Sumy, Chernihiv, Kharkiv, Donetsk, Zaporizhia, Dnipropetrovsk, Kherson, Mykolaiv regions. The activity takes place in regions and communities with different levels of security risks, including high ones. The foundation organizes the working conditions taking into account the security context and provides measures to reduce risks and protect the team.
General description of the job:
The position operates within the framework of the implementation of the mini-grant project within the framework of the FCDO PULSE National Consortiumunder the coordination of the BF "Right to Protection". The community specialist will be responsible for establishing and maintaining partnership relations with communities (local government, communal institutions, initiative groups and other stakeholders) during theimplementation of mini-grant tenders. The community affairs specialist works under the direct supervision of the regional protection coordinator in coordination with the grant manager.
Duties and responsibilities of the specialist:
Work autonomously with the scope of tasks and activities defined by the Regional Security Coordinator and Security Advisor at the level communities.
Conduct regular information exchange with the Grant Manager (competition organization / contracting / reporting)
Interact with other colleagues, within the limits of the implementation conditions.
Collection and summarization of access to services in communities (brief consultations, local data).
Maintain regular exchange of information with the Regional Protection Coordinator to ensure referral and interprographical interaction, if necessary.
Follow the Code of Conduct and the Fund's Policies.
Professional requirements:
Higher education (Social Sciences/Public Administration/Communications or related fields).
Understanding community-level protection approaches, non-discrimination, inclusion and working with vulnerable groups.
Data collection experience, basic literacy in Google Drive/Google Workspace, tables, working with documents.
Contract up to 30in December 2026 with the possibility of extension, which depends on further financing and personal work results.
