In 2024, the DRB will continue to significantly expand to implement emergency response in the social and legal protection, livelihoods, housing reconstruction and humanitarian disarmament and peacebuilding (humanitarian demining) sectors, providing direct support to responsible individuals and non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and as well as their partners. DRB will continue to develop long-term solutions, adapting them to the changing situation.
DRB is currently looking for a highly qualified Economic development project specialist,who will join our team in m . Chernihiv.
General objectives:
Headed by the head of the economic development project team, you will be responsible for the coordination and implementation of economic recovery measures, focusing on urban households and businesses, as well as the development of agricultural value chains, including, but not limited to, the provision of sectoral cash funds to small households and small farmers, grants, agribusiness capacity building , support in professional training and business coaching in the cities of Chernihiv region. You will work closely with communities, non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and government services. The location is the office of the DRB in Chernihiv, field activities will be carried out within Chernihiv region.
Your main responsibilities will be:
- Lead planning and implementation of program activities related to economic recovery activities in the cities of Chernihiv region, including, but not limited to, professional training, distribution of business grants, and capacity building of micro and small businesses.
- He/she will provide support to the Economic Revitalization Project Team Leader in the preparation and updating of monthly work plans.
- Identify and inform the Project Team Leader and Manager of economic development/regeneration needs in designated locations. Ensure the collection of quantitative and qualitative information and data.
- Coordinate work with colleagues in information management and actively participate in the analysis of collected information and data.
- Organize information and educational activities, including dissemination of key messages, development and distribution of informational and educational and communication materialsand conducting information sessions, in accordance with the needs identified during monitoring.
- Contribute to improving the quality of the community-oriented approach of the DRB by effectively identifying and coordinating work with stakeholders, key informants and community members.
>- Mobilize and establish strong ties with communities through consistent interaction with local structures and adherence to approaches that take into account cultural characteristics and dignity.
- Supervise the work of junior specialists of the economic development project and ensure the quality of their activities .
- Coordinate work with other DRB departments to improve the referral process and information sharing.
- Contribute and provide information from the "fields" for new project funding proposals.
- li>Provide regular reports to the Economic Development Project Team Leader and/or Economic Development Project Manager.
- Perform any other tasks as may be assigned by the Economic Development Project Team Leader and/or Economic Development Manager development related to achieving the goals of economic recovery.
About You:
- Understanding of business development, employment, finance, agriculture and/or economic recovery.
- Experience in the humanitarian field and understanding of business grants would be an advantage.
- Ability to speak on sensitive topics and work with people in difficult situations.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to work effectively with vulnerable individuals, employees and stakeholders from various walks of life.< /li>
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, ability to prioritize tasks and handle multiple responsibilities.
- Strong sense of personal integrity and understanding of privacy and ethics.
- Experience with Microsoft Office, Internet Explorer, Outlook/Exchange, Windows operating systems.
- Knowledge of the English language is desirable.
- Knowledge of the Ukrainian language is mandatory.
