BF "Right to Defense" (hereinafter - the Fund) is a recognized leader of the human rights movement in Ukraine. The Foundation has strong positions in the field of protection of the rights of internally displaced persons (IDPs), refugees and stateless persons. Since the beginning of the military invasion in Eastern Ukraine, the Foundation has been monitoring the situation of protection of the rights of IDPs, providing legal and psychosocial assistance and strengthening the humanitarian response in Donetsk, Luhansk, Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, and Zaporizhzhia regions. 

Today the Fund works in almost all regional centers and communities within the respective regions. The Fund is an executive partner of the UNHCR and carries out direct legal aid programs throughout Ukraine, promotes changes in the national legal base, bringing it into line with international standards in the field of human rights.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The position will apply within the project "Providing emergency rescue assistance and protection of the population affected by the conflict in Ukraine", which is implemented in partnership with the Norwegian Refugee Council in Ukraine with the financial support of the European Union.

The goal of the project is to ensure the necessary monitoring and vital issues in the field of protection for the affected population in Lviv, Vinnytsia and Ivano-Frankivsk regions.

Within the framework of the project specialists of the Fund's mobile teams will go to communities where there is the greatest need for help to ensure quick access to vital services for affected people from the war and are unable to get to the aid centers on their own and will provide information on social issues, help in filing documents and solving social issues.  Social workers will provide a case management service: assessment of a person's needs, development of an individual care plan and coordination in receiving social support from various services and ensuring a holistic approach to protection issues. During the trips, the mobile team collects information about new needs or threats in the community in order to respond in a timely manner and implement effective solutions, as well as support people in the process of integration into new communities.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    < li>Identification of persons and families in need of social support;
  • Provision of social assistance to affected persons: social services of counseling, information, physical support, representation of interests in accordance with needs, as well as case management;
  • Assistance to identified affected persons/beneficiaries in obtaining additional services (medical, social, psychological, legal, provision of temporary shelter, etc.), in particular through referral, in case ofrebs, to the relevant general or specialized support services for affected persons and/or other entities;
  • Maintaining contact with local authorities and their institutions, as well as other humanitarian organizations;
  • Reporting in the Fund's internal database;
  • Understanding and following the Code of Conduct and other Fund policies.

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Higher education in the field of social sciences , psychology, law and other humanitarian fields will be an advantage;
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • Politeness, diplomacy and tolerance;
  • Understanding humanitarian principles;
  • Understanding the privacy policy in accordance with the legislation on the collection of personal data;
  • Experience of working in humanitarian organizations, with people with reduced mobility (elderly, people with disabilities) and other vulnerable categories of the population will be an advantage;

  • Experience working with internally displaced persons will be an advantage;
  • Ability to speak the client's language;
  • Fluency in competent Ukrainian;
  • Ability to work in a team and coordinate joint tasks.
