Social worker working with children in Rokada, BF BO

The ROKADA Charitable Foundation, an executive partner of the UN Refugee Agency, announces a competition to fill the vacancy "Social worker working with children" to work with internally displaced persons and affected population groups.

MAIN TASKS

• Conducting a social assessment, identifying needs
• Providing comprehensive assistance to IDPs and their families, cooperation with other members of the team
• Implementation of social support for families with children who find themselves in difficult life circumstances
• Conducting interviews with beneficiaries to identify vulnerabilities and risks, paying particular attention to those most at risk: people with special needs, single parents, people at risk of violence, people with disabilities, marginalized people, etc.
• Carrying out a safeguarding assessment with people in need of safeguarding/social support to advise/refer them to appropriate internal and/or external services according to their needs, capacities, at their own discretion consent
• Providing up-to-date information about services available to people who need support, including helplines, online services and social/protection services and making recommendations about how to get access to these services
• Control of compliance with the rights of client children, representation of the interests of families and children participating in the project in state and non-state bodies and institutions
• Ensuring the interaction of families with children who find themselves in difficult life circumstances with other subjects of social work
• Joining the development communication materials related to outreach work on protection and service provision, ensure access to materials and their distribution among interested persons
• Participation in strengthening cooperation with all partners and other actors involved in providing social support to children and families with children
• Timely submission of reports to the project coordinator
• Working as part of mobile teams
• Performance of other duties if necessary
• Strict compliance humanitarian principles and standards.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS

• Higher education
• Knowledge of social support, protection counseling and psychosocial support. Experience in providing protection support and psychosocial support during emergency response is an advantage
• Knowledge of Ukrainian social policy and national/meinternational recommendations related to social issues, protection and/or human rights (such as displacement, child protection, violence against women/girls, protection, working with people with disabilities and/or minorities, legal rights, etc.)
• Experience and understanding of child rights, child protection methods in emergency situations
• Experience in child protection activities and/or working with vulnerable families, carers, communities, etc
• Excellent communication and active listening skills when interacting with target individuals
• Fluency in Ukrainian. Knowledge of English will be an advantage
• Proficient user of Microsoft Office
• Other relevant experience and skills

• Previous experience in humanitarian or human rights organizations is welcome
