Position overview
The social worker of the department of providing legal assistance to the population provides direct assistance to persons who are in the risk zone. Primary responsibilities include case management, referrals, psychosocial support and close coordination with IRC safeguarding teams and external service providers.
The social worker is responsible for assessing individual needs, ensuring access to safeguarding services and reducing risk while adhering to IRC standards for quality and confidentiality of client services.
Essential Responsibilities
- Identifying individuals at risk through cooperation with local authorities, working with communities and working with referrals from other IRC departments.
- Assessment of clients' protection and risk needs, development of individual plans in accordance with IRC's standard operating procedures.
- Providing information and consulting services for client satisfaction current problems of a legal, social or psychological nature, including documentary support, consultations and referrals to relevant specialists.
- Representing the interests of clients and supporting their participation in decision-making that affects them.
- Maintaining accurate, up-to-date and confidential documentation in accordance with data protection standards.
- Preparing documentation and reports on the support provided and achieved
- Participation in mapping service providers and updating referral routes to improve coordination.
- Interaction with local authorities, humanitarian organizations and other actors to ensure comprehensive assistance to clients and improve access to protection services.
- Adherence to the IRC Code of Conduct, protection principles and standards of interaction with clients and partners.
Requirements for candidates
Education: Bachelor's degree or higher education in social work, psychology, counseling or related field.
Work experience: 1 year of experience as a case worker in a humanitarian organization.
Skills and competencies:
- Skills to use CommCare.
- Fluent command of Ukrainian and Russian languages.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team.
- Understanding confidentiality and respect for customers.
- Confident PC user (Word, Excel).
