In connection with the expansion of the Foundation's activities, we are looking for anew colleague in the team - ssocial worker in a specialized family-type building in Lviv as part of the implementation of the project "Ensuring the right of every child to be raised in a family environment by strengthening the policies of social protection of families and developing family forms of upbringing in the Lviv region" with the support of the United Nations Children's Fund UNICEF.

Duration of the project: March 2026 - September 2026

Cooperation format: on the basis of the contract for the provision of services (FOP, group 3).

Purpose of the position

The main purpose of this position is individual support of the adolescent child in everyday life, learning, socialization and development of independence skills.

Children live in a specialized family-type children's home together with a foster mother. Five children, most of whom are teenagers, are being raised in the house. These are children who are independent in everyday life, but have educational, emotional losses and mental disorders related to life experiences, and need additional support in learning, socialization and organization of everyday life.

Each child will be assigned one social worker who will provide him with individual support: help in education, organization of leisure time, socialization, will accompany to clubs and classes, and will also contribute to the development of social and life skills. The work involves close interaction with the foster mother and supporting the child in its daily development and adaptation.

Wishes for the candidate:

• higher education (social work, pedagogy, psychology or related specialties);
• experience working with children or teenagers will be an advantage;
• experience working in charitable or social organizations will be a plus;
• readiness for daily work with children and supporting their development;
• responsibility, patience and empathy;
• ability to build trusting communication with teenagers.

Your areas of responsibility:

• to ensure: education of children, their individual development and personality formation, participation in parent meetings, meetings and conversations with teachers about the child;
• daily support of the child in everyday life, learning and socialization;
• helping the child with distance learning and homework;
• accompanying children to clubs, sections, additional classes;
• assistance in the development of social skills, communication and independence;
• support of the child in everyday situations and the formation of responsibility skills;
• assistance to the mother-educator in the organization of life at home;
• participation in the development, adjustment and implementation of individual social protection plans recipients;
• participation in career guidance work: analysis of requirements for admission to higher education institutions; determination based on the results of the NMT of potential faculties of study, helping children to determine their strong soft and hard skills for choosing areas of potential specialties for admission;
• organization of joint activities that contribute to the development and socialization of children;
• reporting on class attendance, reporting to partners;
• communication with the project team regarding the child's progress.
