Duty station: Poltava, with occasional trips to the regions of Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia and Mykolaiv

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
In collaboration with and under the supervision of the MEDU Project Coordinator, the Social Health Operator will:
- Validate lists of persons with disabilities and manage the identification of 100 final beneficiaries.
- Classify persons with disabilities in accordance with WHO guidelines and health cluster recommendations.
- Assist the MEDU Project Coordinator and MEDU experts from Italy in the development of the intervention strategy.
- Conduct assessments and compile a list of individual devices for persons with disabilities.
- Initiate the procurement process for medical devices and manage relationships with suppliers in collaboration with the logistics team.
- Participate in field missions in implementation locations alongside the staff of MEDU.
- Manage relationships with relevant local institutions, interface with the health cluster, and maintain contact with social services in implementation locations.
- Create and manage a database to record beneficiaries and devices provided.
- Develop pre- and post-distribution distribution questionnaires for persons with disabilities to monitor the overall improvement.
- Assist the MEDU Project Coordinator in the preparation of reports.
- Produce photographic documentation for visibility purposes.
- Fulfill other additional requests by the MEDU Project Coordinator.
- Starting work in November 2024.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Medical Degree or Healthcare-related degree, preferably in at least one of the following sectors: Social Work, Physical therapy, Orthopedic Technology.
- Proven experience in working with people with disabilities
- Foreign languages: excellent knowledge of English
- Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)
- Adherence to humanitarian action principles of humanity, impartiality, independence, and neutrality
- Availability to travel in the regions of Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia and Mykolaiv
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
- Capacity to prioritize, adapt and thrive in stressful conditions
- Proficient in coordinating and organizing his own work-flow
- Possesses strong planning and contextual analysis skills
- Demonstrates a sense of initiative and flexibility
- Ability to thrive in a multicultural context
- Driving license type B
OTHER DESIRED REQUIREMENTS
- Previous work experience in war and emergency context
- Previous work experience with non-profit organizations in the socio-health or mental health field
- Knowledge of Poltava Oblast geographical context
