Senior Product Engineer (Freelance)

We are looking for a Senior Product Engineer to help build and evolve our product end-to-end. This is a hands-on freelance role in a startup environment where engineers take ownership and make pragmatic decisions to move the product forward.

You will work across the full stack and take responsibility for delivering reliable, user-focused features — from database design to APIs to user experience.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys high ownership, autonomy, and real product impact.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement product features end-to-end
• Build and maintain backend APIs
• Develop and improve frontend user experiences
• Design and evolve database schemas 
• Identify problems and proactively fix them
• Make pragmatic technical decisions aligned with product goals
• Contribute to product direction and prioritization 
• Ensure production systems remain stable and maintainable

Required Technical Skills

• Strong experience building large, statically typed codebases (TypeScript full stack preferred).
• Solid experience with relational databases (Postgres preferred)
   
• Experience building and operating production systems
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred, GCP/Azure acceptable)
• Experience designing APIs and data models
• Ability to debug and improve live systems
• Strong experience with agentic coding and AI-assisted development

Ability to effectively guide AI tools and coding agents to produce high-quality production code. This includes structuring problems, reviewing AI-generated solutions, and maintaining strong architectural coherence.

We use Claude Code CLI as a standard AI assistant in the development process.
