Senior Child Protection Officer (hereinafter - Child Protection Officer) will work with Child Protection staff and IRC implementing partners to ensure that activities are carried out in accordance with the IRC's Child Protection Standards, including its policies and strategies. She/he will oversee the provision of safe and appropriate response services, preventive measures and measures to reduce the risks faced by children and their families. The Senior Child Protection Officer will provide technical guidance, training and support to IRC HR staff and IRC implementing partner staff. In particular, the Senior HR Officer will be responsible for:
- Program implementation and quality:Strengthen adherence to HR guidelines across HR and partner activities, namely:
- Plan, monitor and control activities aimed at prevention and response for ZD and their families.
- Oversee the forwarding mechanisms and manage the maintenance and regular/timely updating of service mapping and forwarding paths and training of forwarding service providers.
- Evaluate implementation progress and identify technical issues as quality-related or other problems identified by the manager of the ZD department; and propose solutions.
- Determine material needs together with employees of the ZD department, as well as work with the manager of the ZD department and the integrated protection program employee to make the necessary purchases within the budget.
- Facilitate program activities with partner staff.
- Program Monitoring and Reporting: Ensure full documentation of all program activities and services using agreed monitoring tools for systematic and timely data collection on activities, including:
- Maintain IRC information management systems in accordance with data protection, data collection and sharing standards, and IRC guidelines.
- Submit a weekly report and tracker events, success stories, lessons learned, etc. to the designated IRC PR coordination center in a timely manner.
- Supervision and development staff: Directly supervise HR department staff, in particular :
- Provide regular supervision, coaching and guidance on child protection prevention, risk reduction and response
- Empower, support staff professional development and nurture positive teamspirit, thus encouraging innovative and high-quality implementation of the program
- In cooperation with the HR department manager, identify needs for capacity building and support the organization and facilitation of training to meet these needs
- Monitor work on field trips to ensure staff meet program goals and use appropriate time management.
- Coordination and Representation: Work closely with HR Manager, IRC partners and other service providers to provide prevention and response measures, namely:
- Identify issues related to the implementation of shipping protocols and relevant stakeholders and support their compliance.

- Interact with advisory organizations and other stakeholders to promote timely and quality responses to at-risk children and their families
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with other service providers and relevant stakeholders , including community members and other implementing partners.
- Other:
- Consistently and proactively monitor/evaluate the security of the HR team, promptly reporting issues or incidents to security and IRC management, and liaising with community leaders and other external parties as necessary to maintain/improve the environment for IRC programs.
- Perform any other tasks at the request of your supervisor to ensure the smooth operation of the program.
Requirements:
Language: Fluency in Ukrainian and Russian languages, English at an advanced / intermediate level
- Desirable: having a bachelor's degree in the field of social work, human rights, social sciences, public health I, humanities or other related field
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience implementing child protection programs, preferably social work or related field, in humanitarian or development settings
- Understanding case management - and psychosocial support to promote recovery and rehabilitation
- Understanding the importance and ability to maintain confidentiality and respect for clients/beneficiaries
- Experience in leading ZD teams on response strategies and a broad understanding of working with children, particularly vulnerable
- Excellent communication skills
- Positive and professional attitude, including the ability to lead and work well in a team environment
- High degree of flexibility and strong ability to organize work, adhere to meet deadlines, remain calm, prioritize, work under pressure, coordinate multiple tasks and pay attention to detail
- Computer literacy including Microsoft Word and Excel
