Senior Software Engineer (Server) in The Product Engine, Inc.

Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our team, supporting mobile backend applications and the real-time simulation software that powers one of the longest-running and most complex virtual worlds in existence. 

Requirements:

• 4+ years of experience in software engineering with expertise in client/server architecture and networking;

• Experience with Python and C++/C;

• Familiarity with real-time simulation systems and backend web development;

• A collaborative approach and commitment to innovative problem-solving;

• Experience working with large, complex codebases.

Would be plus:

• Knowledge of instrumentation, monitoring, and telemetry;

• Knowledge of 3D graphics or virtual world technologies.

• Experience with cloud platforms, such as AWS, for deploying and managing software;

• Regular use of AI tools like Copilot and ChatGPT to enhance productivity;

• Enthusiasm for exploring and implementing novel AI features and capabilities.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and enhance backend services, bringing new features to both mobile and desktop platforms;

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product and QA, to deliver ambitious projects;

• Improve stability, testability, and code quality across existing systems;

• Own the development lifecycle for new features from concept through release;

• Participate in on-call rotations and help manage production incidents when necessary.
