We are seeking a  Senior Next.js Developer to join the Evolved Ideas team to assist in migrating our inbound website from a home-grown setup (8+ years old) to NextJS. Customers use our website to sell their used books & clothes to momox.

The goal is to either complete this migration or push the migration forward and set the team up for success in completing the migration.

PROJECT DURATION

• Expected to take about half a year, goal is to be done beginning 2025
• We plan to run the new website in parallel with the old website, milestones are setup along the types of pages we successfully migrated & serve already from the new setup

SCOPE OF WORK

• Develop and migrate web pages using React (NextJS), TypeScript, and CSS (Tailwind, CSS Modules) and our API
• Ensure seamless integration of new pages with the existing website during the migration phase
• Set up/Assist in setting up proper guidelines and processes for maintaining a modern website
• Sharing knowledge & assist in onboarding the rest of the team

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Proficiency in React and NextJS
• Strong knowledge of TypeScript
• Expertise in CSS, specifically using Tailwind and CSS Modules
• Ability to write clean, maintainable, and efficient code
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Good communication and time management skills

PREFFERED EXPERIENCE

• Previous experience in website migration projects
• Experience working with legacy systems and modern frameworks
• Familiarity with setting up development guidelines and processes
• Knowledge of accessibility concerns would be nice
