Job DescriptionWe are looking for a Sr. Senior Environmental Compliance Manager who will support us on the USAID funded Harvest Activity Program in Ukraine.This Activity aims to enable supported male and female grain and oilseed farmers, including those from marginalized and underserved groups, to return production and income for target commodities to at least pre-war levels while improving production efficiency and profitability and will position farmers to market their crops more successfully and profitably in the war-affected context. The Activity will focus specifically on the following target commodities, barley, corn, soybean, sunflower, and wheat.The Individual Will Be Responsible For The FollowingMust ensure compliance with all USAID and Government of Ukraine environmental policies and regulations, including those governing the use, handling, transport, storage, and disposition of agricultural inputs such as seeds, crop protection products, and fertilizer. Must integrate efforts to strengthen the sector’s resilience to climate change and reduce climate emissions, in line with USAID’s climate strategyPrepare Environmental Management and Monitoring Reports, documenting compliance with the IEE/EMMP and climate-related considerationsProvide course-based (and on the-job) training on USAID and Ukrainian environmental safeguards procedures to the construction companies who carry out the rehabilitation of irrigation worksQualificationsMust possess at least a Bachelor of Science degree, or certificate in environmental science at a university or community.At least five years of experience in environmental safeguard procedures for donor organizations such as USAID, the EU, the World Bank or other international agenciesExperience in environmental safeguards procedures for irrigation projects a plus.Preference shall be given to individuals who have worked in or with the Ukrainian national or municipal government.Exceptional written and oral communications skills in English, Ukrainian language skills a plus.Additional InformationAll your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
