We have worked together for about 18 years.Within this engagement, you join platform software development team focused on the Linux operating system for client’s current and future appliances. The platform team is responsible for the architecture, design, and development of the virtual appliances deployed on-premises and in the Azure cloud.IF YOU AREA holder of a bachelor’s in computer science or related degreeAn experienced DevOps Engineer with 5+ years of development in a Linux environmentProficient in Linux operating system including kernel, Filesystem Hierarchy Standard, operating system configuration, repositories, and rpm packagingSkilled in Perl, shell scripting, PHP, Tomcat, Apache HTTP Server, and the Linux operating systemAware of networking principles (DNS, DHCP, firewalls, etc.) and network troubleshootingKnowledgeable in Linux security principles and utilities (TLS, ACLs, AppArmor, etc.)Familiar with database principlesProfessional in cloud environments Azure and AWSStrong in designing solutions in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with high expectationsUnrivalled in full software development life cycle and successful bringing products to marketExcellent in written and verbal interaction with both internal teams and external customers and partnersAccustomed to working in an Agile Scrum environment (as a plus)Versed in VMWare and hypervisors (nice to have)Aware of the SUSE Linux operating system distribution (optional)AND YOU WANT TODesign and deliver the operating system and the software responsible for setup, configuration, and integration for the virtual applianceDevelop and debug software in a multi-threaded environmentDevelop operating system application functionality within a dynamic agile scrum environmentCreate high-quality code testable through automationRun unit and functional automated testsParticipate in troubleshooting and resolution of customer issuesConfigure and maintain the Linux operating system in the applianceDevelop software for the setup, configuration, and management of multi-appliance enterprises including networkingTOGETHER WE WILLWork on a stable project with clear and well-defined transparent processesCommunicate with US customers dailyThrive in a professional, friendly and supportive teamParticipate in periodic Hackathon events where everybody is welcome to work on their own ideasAssess professional development courses and programsHave a chance to visit US office to gain even more knowledge and share our ideasEnjoy a flexible time off and vacation policy SoftServe is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
