Senior Data Analyst (0.5 capacity, partial engagement) in Luxoft

Project Description:

We are committed to developing a developer-centric Business Intelligence (BI) solution designed to track, visualize, and measure development and product-related metrics across various sources. This initiative aims to provide valuable insights into different business segments.

Our robust BI solution focuses on four critical data segments:

1. Products - Insights on product usage related to software.
2. Planning/Financials - Retrospective planning and financials, including capitalization, depreciation, spend, and assets.
3. Development Implementation - Insights on development performance (e.g., DORA). However, this is not currently a priority.

Our immediate priority is to enhance visibility into our "NEEDS Process" and the software capitalization & depreciation process. We've already integrated data from Jira and an internal Resource Management Tool into a BigQuery and Looker-based solution, with future plans to integrate Datadog.

Responsibilities:

• Integrate and adapt data from various sources directly within Looker, ensuring a seamless and efficient process.
• Create and maintain insightful dashboards that provide reliable and actionable insights.
• Conduct rigorous quality checks to ensure data integrity and accuracy.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and deliver effective BI solutions.
• Stay updated with the latest BI technologies and methodologies to continuously enhance our BI capabilities.

Mandatory Skills:

• Looker & LookML: Strong experience and knowledge of Looker and LookML for data visualization and direct data adaptation within Looker.
• BigQuery: Experience with BigQuery.
• Jira: Familiarity with Jira, as it is a primary data source.
• SQL Proficiency: Strong command of SQL for data manipulation and analysis.
• Version Control & Task Management: Experience with git code repositories and version control.
• Detail-Oriented: Meticulous attention to detail to ensure the reliability and accuracy of data presented in dashboards.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

• ETL Processes: Knowledge of ETL processes, even though they are not currently implemented.
• Additional BI Tools: Exposure to other BI tools and platforms, enhancing flexibility and innovation in our BI solutions.
