Responsibilities

  • Provides security management support for operations JERU throughout the country with an emphasis on Eastern Ukraine and overseeing the implementation of policies, procedures and recommendations;
  • Monitors the movement of personnel and supports the process of planning and approving movements;
  • Provides security analysis and assessment support designated zones, routes and premises, as well as providing relevant recommendations;
  • Translate between English and Ukrainian during meetings with authorities, partners and other stakeholders parties;
  • Improving JERU's relationships with partners, local sources, local authorities and other relevant stakeholders to share information, obtain local movement permits, provide security management support, etc.;
  • Under the guidance of the Security Advisor, provide support to JERU partners in implementing their security management priorities such as security training and assessment;
  • Timely and accurately collects and shares information, including from local sources, relevant to security assessment and planning. Notify the Security Advisor of new developments or issues; provide written reports as needed;
  • Ensures regular communication with the security service and communication on operational matters with JERU partners;
  • Performs planning and procurement of security goods and servicesand security;
  • Maintains security and safety of premises and equipment, including through regular inspections and testing;
  • Updates and analyzes humanitarian access issues;
  • Plans and conducts training and briefings for JERU personnel with emphasis on drivers and field project personnel;
  • Assists the Safety Advisor in conducting safety and security training;
  • Performs emergency response and incident management, including if an emergency occurs outside normal business hours;

Requirements:

  • Higher education (preferred)
  • 3 years of work experience in the field of security or operations management
  • one year of work experience in the field of NGO security (preferred)
  • Experience working in a humanitarian organization or organization of civil society;
  • Confirmed work experience in places of increased risk;
  • Fluency in Ukrainian, English (intermediate)
  • Computer knowledge (MS Office, social media, Google Maps);
  • Team player with strong problem-solving skills;
  • Driver's license (category B).

  • Official employment under an employment contract (until 12/31/2025 with the possibility of extension) .
