GENERAL INFORMATION
BF "Right to Defense" (hereinafter - the Fund) is a sector leader in the protection of people who have suffered from war, veterans, refugees and stateless persons. We seek recovery and integration for those we help. Our team protects people's rights and influences laws and decisions in Ukraine and the world to become fairer. We are actively developing a network of partners for localized support of those who need it. The fund is 13 years old. Today, the team of BF "Right to Defense" has about 1,200 specialists. Geography: 22 regions of Ukraine, as well as a representative office in Poland. More than 3,300,000 people have received aid since the start of the full-scale invasion. Our work was recognized at the national level: in 2024, the Foundation won the first place in the "Charity Ukraine" competition in the "All-Ukrainian charity" category, entered the top 10 of the Forbes Ukraine rating of "50 best charitable organizations" and took 9th place in the integrity rating of Ukrainian charitable foundations.
PULSE (Protection, Unity, Leadership, Support, Empowerment) is the first national a consortium of civil society organizations that have combined their unique expertise to protect and assist war victims. It is financed with the support of UK aid from the government of Great Britain, implemented under the coordination of the BF "Right to Defense". Support for this project in Ukraine by the UK government is provided through the SHARP component of its Humanitarian Aid, Rehabilitation and Protection Program.
In the period from September 2025 to March 2028, the Fund will implement measures to monitor protection, provide legal aid, increase access to basic services and build community resilience in the regions of Ukraine: Sumy, Chernihiv, Kharkiv, Donetsk, Zaporizhia, Dnipropetrovsk, Kherson, and Mykolaiv regions. The activity takes place in regions and communities with different levels of security risks, including high ones. The Foundation organizes working conditions taking into account the security context and provides measures to reduce risks and protect the team.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
Ensures the implementation of protection program activities at the regional level, coordinates the work of field employees, is responsible for planning, quality of execution, reporting and interprogram interaction. Is the main contact person between the regional team, experts and program management, contributes to the integration of approaches and compliance with protection standards.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Integrated planning of protection programs at the level of Mykolayiv, Kherson and Odesa regions (protection monitoring, counseling, support, case management, care at home, C4P, awareness raising, integrationmeasures and other protection activities at the community level).
Establishing effective interaction between team members.
Establishment of effective interaction with experts in areas of work.
Analysis of information about the needs of beneficiaries and communities, formation of proposals for improving program activities.
ability to identify cases for advocacy support.
Ensuring prompt reporting of incidents.
Representation of the program during donor visits, meetings with clusters and representatives of the authorities at the regional level.
Conducting regular 1:1 with team members, annual evaluations, providing feedback.
Provision of burnout, support in crisis situations.
PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Higher education in social or social sciences — social work, law, sociology, social psychology, political science, public administration, or other related majors.
At least 2 years of experience in the field of humanitarian protection, monitoring of protection, coordination of activities of temporary residences, work with vulnerable groups, work in humanitarian or social projects, of which at least 1 year in a management or coordination position in the field of protection.
Experience coordinating field teams.
Experience of cooperation with international donors, participation in the development or implementation of protection projects will be an advantage.
Ability to work independently to meet deadlines
Understanding humanitarian principles, mainstreaming protection standards, PSEA and accountability to affected populations.
Good communication skills, courtesy and diplomacy.
Fluency in the Ukrainian language.
A working level of English will be an advantage.
