Python QA Automation Engineer in DefTech Agency

DefTech Agency is a niche recruiting agency helping defense and deeptech product companies build strong engineering teams. We cooperate with companies that develop fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) — high-precision solutions that perform critical combat and reconnaissance missions every day.

Our client is a technology company that is a recognized leader in the field of aviation solutions for the defense needs of Ukraine. The unmanned systems created by this team havealready completed tens of thousands of successful combat sorties and won international recognition due to their high efficiency and reliability.

We are currently looking for aPython QA Automation Engineer to join the R&D team. Full-time office format.

Main responsibilities:

• Development and support of automated tests and frameworks in Python for embedded components and ground stations (GCS).
• Creation and maintenance of test documentation: test cases, checklists, test plans for firmware and ground station.
• Identification, reproduction and documentation of bugs, work with bug tracking systems.
• Testing on real equipment: firmware of devices, work with stands, analysis of logs and serial interfaces.
• Integration of automated tests in CI/CD and support of the test environment (Linux, Docker, virtual machines).
• Close interaction with developers, participationin code reviewand clarification of system requirements.

Necessary skills:

• 2+ years of experience in the position of QA Automation.
• Practical skills of writing autotests in Python.
• Experience withLinux and bash.
• Confident use ofGit: work with branches, pull requests.
• Work with test frameworks: pytest, unittest will be:
  • Understanding the operation of embedded devices and firmware.
  • Experience with Docker and CI/CD (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI).
  • Knowledge of QEMU and Hardware-in-the-loop (HIL).
