1. Background

Team4UA implements humanitarian and early recovery projects across Ukraine to ensureinclusive, dignified, and protection-oriented assistance to internally displaced persons (IDPs).Under the ACCESS project, Team4UA supports inclusive rehabilitation of collective centersand strengthens protection and psychosocial support services for vulnerable populations,including persons with disabilities, women, and children.To strengthen MHPSS service delivery, Team4UA is recruiting a Psychosocial SupportOfficer.

2. Position Overview

Under the supervision of the Protection Services Coordinator, the Psychosocial Support Officer ensures the planning, delivery, and monitoring of psychosocial support (PSS) activities aimed at improving the mental well-being, resilience, and coping mechanisms ofcrisis-affected populations. The role combines direct service delivery, capacity-building, coordination with serviceproviders, documentation, and monitoring in line with humanitarian protection standards and organizational policies.

3. Key Responsibilities

A.    Psychosocial Support Service Delivery

  • Deliver Psychological First Aid (PFA) sessions individually and in groups.
  • Design and implement age-, gender-, and culturally sensitive PSS activities.
  • Conduct psychosocial assessments and ensure follow-up actions.
  • Identify individuals requiring specialized support and facilitate safe referrals.
  • Maintain confidential and accurate documentation of interventions.

B.    Capacity Building & Technical Support

  • Support training of field staff and partners on PSS and basic MHPSS principles.
  • Provide technical mentoring to field teams.
  • Contribute to development and updating of SOPs and technical guidelines.

C.    Monitoring, Reporting & Data Management

  • Prepare weekly and monthly activity reports.
  • Collect and verify disaggregated data.
  • Use monitoring tools to measure impact and accountability.
  • Ensure timely reporting aligned with donor requirements.

D.    Coordination & Referral

  • Maintain service mapping of MHPSS providers.
  • Ensure safe and confidential referral pathways.
  • Coordinate with NGOs, civil society actors, and local authorities.

E.   Other Responsibilities  

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.


4. Qualifications and Experience

Education:  Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Sociology, or related field. Certified PFA/MHPSS training is an asset.    

Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in psychosocial support or protection programming.

  • Experience working with vulnerable groups in humanitarian contexts.

  • Experience in referral systems and coordination with service providers.

  • Experience with NGOs/INGOs/UN agencies is an advantage.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of MHPSS frameworks (IASC Guidelines, PFA principles).
  • Ability to apply survivor-centered and ethical approaches.
  • Strong facilitation and group management skills.
  • Ability to collect and analyze qualitative and quantitative data.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.

Languages: 

Ukrainian: fluent.
English: working knowledge required.

5. Supervision and Reporting

The PSS Officer reports to the Protection Services Coordinator and works closely with theProtection team and implementing partners.

6. Duration and Duty Station

Duration: 8–12 months (subject to funding).                                                              Duty Station: Lviv, Ukraine (with regular travel to Lvivska and Rivnenska oblasts).

7. Reservation:
In accordance with Ukrainian legislation and subject to organizational eligibility, the position may be eligible for staff reservation (military deferment). Reservation is processed in line with national regulations and internal procedures.
