Obligations and responsibilities
- Conduct informational and educational sessions in the field of PZPSP to facilitate the provision of counseling services in communities and increase the level of public awareness of already available services.
- Liaise with health professionals and government services to disseminate well-being information and counseling in communities.
- Provide psychoeducation and information sharing for service providers to help destigmatize perceptions of mental health and access to counseling.
- Conduct group psychoeducational sessions for community members.
- Conduct counseling in order to identify the needs of people who apply for support, have been referred by partner organizations or identified during needs assessment.
- Conduct individual and group consultations for community members who have such a need based on the results of the needs assessment.
- Accompany PSP volunteers in their activities, provide advisory support if necessary.
- Follow up cases identified by outreach teams, conduct needs assessment and follow-up.
- Apply monitoring and evaluation tools to track the psychosocial well-being of recipients.
- Report regularly to the team psychologist and share any concerns about possible risks.
- Participate in regular supervisions and analyze own work.
- Give advice to other employeesand volunteers as necessary and upon request.
- Counselors must undergo mandatory training before starting work and use a structured approach to counseling in accordance with international humanitarian standards for providing psychosocial support. Training is provided by TCHHU.
