General information about the role of the employee:

Under the general direction of the Senior Specialist in Psychosocial Work, implements measures of psychosocial directions  If necessary, joins the program team to provide immediate support in places where it is needed.

Specific duties and responsibilities

  • Provides psycho-emotional support and Psychological first aid (PPD), provides emergency, urgent, crisis counseling to the affected population, in case of need for support - if necessary, together with the project team, makes trips within the country to provide such support in those places where it is urgently needed.
  • Prevents stigmatization and provides appropriate answers to requests for more detailed information (psychological education about the work of a psychologist, symptoms of stress, psychological first aid, emotional burnout, etc.)< /li>
  • Organizes and conducts group training sessions, according to the needs of the population and the team;
  • Takes an active part in communication, support, exchange of experience, creation of a positive atmosphere in the team;
  • Implements measures aimed at improving the social and psychological state of the population in the form of psychological education, group and individual consultations in accordance with the project methodology; 
  • Performs questionnaires, diagnostics, testing and processing of received data;
  • Follows the plan to agreed locations in coordination with the mobile team in accordance with the work plan and schedule;
  • Systematically analyzes feedback on the results of group and individual activities, makes appropriate changes to the activities;
  • Prepares reports and document flow in accordance with established deadlines;
  • Helps to ensure the integration of project activities with the overall program of the sector.

Experience and qualifications required

  • Higher psychology degree, other qualification or advanced study of MHPSS subject matter including IASC Guidelines, child protection, SGBV.
  • 3-5 years practical professional experience with understanding of conflict-related contexts, with experience, for example, in such areas as community mobilization, PSS activities, youth and social workand, including referrals, with various community members in a complex humanitarian context;
  • Good reporting skills and analytical abilities;
  • Priority will be given to candidates with experience working in humanitarian and international NGOs, participating in projects local organizations;
  • At least a basic understanding humanitarian aid or development programs in emergency situations;
  • Group work skills and organizational skills;
  • Computer skills, ability to use Microsoft Office programs (MS Word, Excel , etc.);
  • Understanding humanitarian principles and practices;
  • Skills communication and diplomacy;
  • Organizational and planning skills
  • Ability to work under time constraints.
