Médecins Sans Frontières/ Medecins Sans Frontieres ( 400">MSF) is an internationalhumanitarian organization that provides assistance in more than 60 countries of the world to the population in a difficult situation, victims of natural disasters, man-made disasters and armed conflicts, regardless of their race, religious or political beliefs.  

MSF is a civil society initiative that unites people who want to help other people in crisis situations. Thus, MSF is an association by choice.

Everyone who works with MSF does so out of conviction and is willing to support the values and principles of the organization.

Main activities worker:

Provide mental health/psychosocial services according to MSF standards to ensure the most appropriate mental health support for beneficiaries.

Essential Responsibilities:

    • Assessing the psychological state and psychosocial needs of the beneficiaries and developing a short-term support plan. Referral of beneficiaries to other medical professionals as needed to ensure the most appropriate treatment and improvement of the beneficiary's condition.
    • Provide psychosocial support (one-off or short-term sessions; individual, family, group) to beneficiaries according to MSF protocols to improve their psycho-emotional well-being and functioning.
    • Conduct psychosocial group sessions.
    • Provide psychological support and training to members staff and competent persons as needed to expand the reach of mental health interventions. Work closely with interpreters to ensure appropriate terminology and behavior during sessions.
    • Provide training to other services (e.g. health workers) on psychosocial topics.
    • Actively participate in trainings, supervisions/interventions and, where necessary, support the activity manager in conducting awareness-raising activities for MSF staff or external partners on mental health/psychosocial issues aspects.
    • Collection of statistical and monitoring data on activities in the field of mental health and their timely reporting.
    • Informing supervisorsra and the medical team about any questions or problems that may arise and relate to the beneficiary support plan in order to provide the best possible solution from a medical point of view.
    • Ensuring the confidentiality of all information about the beneficiaries.

Unit Features MSF:

  • Work in the Mykolaiv/Kherson regions with trips to other settlements to provide one-time and short-term psychological support to the population and medical staff of hospitals, as well as provide remote consultations as needed.
  • Prepare daily reports-transmissions regarding cases that require further support from a psychologist.
  • Direct beneficiaries who need basic needs or more specialized help (for example, clinical psychology, psychotherapy or psychiatry).
  • Conduct trainings for different categories of people (often medical professionals) on key topics in the field of mental health.
  • Complete all relevant documentation for mental health beneficiaries, including referral forms.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education:

  • University degree in psychology is required.

Experience:

  • At least 2 years of psychosocial counseling experience.
  • Knowledge of basic Google and Microsoft Office products.

Languages:fluency in the Ukrainian language; knowledge of the English language is desirable. style="font-weight: 400">Term contract, with the possibility of extension;
