PSYCHOLOGIST

REPORTS TO: Health Project Supervisor
LOCATION: Dnipro
GENERAL MISSION
The psychologist will be part of the Mental Health and Psychosocial support (MHPSS) response, under the Health team of HI. HI implements MHPSS activities at community level for displaced, potential returnees and community representatives (including helpers) and addressing the most acute needs of the vulnerable conflict-affected population in Ukraine through the delivery of an inclusive, timely and multi-sectorial humanitarian assistance.
Core activities include individual MHPSS sessions, group MHPSS awareness sessions, psychoeducation and information sessions, training (e.g. PFA).
MISSIONS/ RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Identification and assessment of needs:
Support in the identification of the communities and MHPSS needs and make recommendations for the provision of appropriate support activities in priority locations;
In collaboration with other HI internal departments, participates in the referrals’ pathway of affecter population both internally and externally;
Continue to monitor referred cases status to the protection team of HI.
2. MHPSS activities:
Conduct individual counselling sessions;
Animate MHPSS group activities;
Organize and conduct trainings in MHPSS
3. Capacity building and activities’ improvement:
Attend weekly individual and group supervision leaded by HI MHPSS team
Participate in Program meetings and share relevant inputs (general program meeting, general site meeting, Health/MHPSS team meeting).
Work closely with MHPSS team members as PSS workers, MHPSS Technical officers and specialist
Collaborate with Rehabilitation team to implement a comprehensive approach
4. Monitoring and reporting:
Conduct pre and post tests
Update database for individual sessions on a weekly basis
Update database for groups sessions and trainings in link with PSS workers on a weekly basis
Prepare, write narrative reporting on activities and share a constructive analysis of them in a timely manner
5. Contribution to HI's technical impact (within their area of expertise):
Provides support in identifying appropriate capacities and entry points at sectoral, cross-sectoral, national and local levels (humanitarian coordination mechanisms, government/state actors, civil society actors, etc.) to facilitate reliable, useful and supportive strategies, programs and data analysis in MHPSS.
6. Contribute to other activities as requested by the Health Project Manager or Health Project Supervisor
PROFILE SOUGHT
Qualification(s):
Bachelor degree and/or master degree in psychology (
Clinical preferred)Experience:
At least one year experience working with NGOs;
General MHPSS experience from 3 years;
Important assured experience in individual counselling
Experience in group activities’ animation and training
Experience of working in emergency and crisis contexts in multidisciplinary team;
Experience with people with disabilities;
One year of experience in a similar role will be given priority
Skills:
Knowledge of vulnerability, disability and intersectionality of needs;
Ability to establish community relationship;
Strong humanitarian commitment, sense of responsibility and respect for the confidentiality of beneficiaries data;
Strong organizational skills and ability to work under pressure;
Maintain emotional stability when dealing with human suffering, emergencies, and other stressors;
Excellent reporting skills (written and oral communication);
Basic IT skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint);
Language knowledge: Ukrainian and Russian
Experience in disability rights advocacy

ЗАГАЛЬНІ ОБОВ’ЯЗКИ
Психолог буде працювати у складі кthe Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPS) team in the physical and mental health project of Handicap International (NI). HI conducts community-level CPR activities for internally displaced people, people who are potentially planning to return to their place of permanent residence, and community representatives (including facilitators), addressing the most pressing needs of the most vulnerable sections of the affected population in Ukraine through the provision of inclusive, timely and multi-sectoral humanitarian aid.
The main types of activities include: conducting individual PZPSP sessions, group familiarization sessions, psychoeducation and information sessions, trainings (e.g. PPD ).
TASK/SCOPE OF COMPETENCE
1. Determining and assessing needs:< /span>
Conduct/participate in determining needs in accordance with "Standard Operating Procedures ( SOP) from PZPSP" and "Guidelines for carrying out needs assessment" of the Interdepartmental Standing Committee and WHO;
Together with other internal departments of the organization, participate in redirecting the needs of the affected population both within the organization and to external partners.
Continue tracking the status of referrals together with the social protection project team.
2. Activities from the PZPSP:
Engage in the organization, preparation and facilitation of activities with PZPSP and ensure their adaptation to the specific needs and capabilities of each group of beneficiaries, working in accordance with the standards of the organization and "Standard Operating procedures (SOP) with PZPSP";
Conduct individual consultations;
Conduct group activities with PZPSP;
3. Development of potential and improvement of activity:
Attend appropriate trainings/courses to improve knowledge and understanding of your current role (anti-abuse policy, proper support training, etc.);
Attend weekly individual and group supervisions conducted by the EDPS team at HI;
Participate in program meetings and share relevant information (general program meetings, general region meetings, Mental and Physical Health project team meetings, as well as PZPSP team meetings).
Work closely with members of the HCSP team consisting of psychosocial workers, a technical specialist and a HCSP specialist.
Collaborate with the functional and physical rehabilitation team to implement a comprehensive approach to assisting beneficiaries.
4. Monitoring and reporting:< /span>
Perform collection and archiving of activity data from the PPSPS using special tools (eg SurveyCTO)
Conduct pre-tests and post-tests with beneficiaries.
Update database for individual sessions weekly.
Update weekly database for group sessions and training with psychosocial workers.
Prepare descriptive reports on the activities carried out in a timely manner and share a constructive analysis of the activities.
5. Supporting technical activities HI< span style="font-weight: bold"> (in his field of competence):
Participate in HI technical activities: if necessary, the employee can act as HI's technical representative in the field of HCSP in local communities, facilitate the coordination of HCSP services for affected communities;
Participate in determining community opportunities and humanitarian access at the sectoral, multi-sectoral, national and local levels (h(e.g. humanitarian coordination mechanisms, state/government workers, civil society representatives, etc.) to implement reliable, useful and supportive strategies, programs and perform data analysis in the area of PWSP.
6. Support other activities as requested by the physical and mental health project manager or supervisor' I.
