Part 1:  Role Purpose:

Street Child is seeking a person who eager to be involved in supporting the humanitarian response caused by brutal war in Ukraine caused by Russian military assault. This is an opportunity to become a member of well-established international organisation and its growing team in Ukraine. This is a demanding role and is suited to individuals who enjoy being busy and involved in a variety of tasks. Street Child is looking for a person with experience and knowledge in working in humanitarian context with a strong emphasize on child protection and mental health support interventions. The person will be responsible for implementation of day-to-day project activities under a supervision of a Protection Project Manager to ensure the project is implemented without delays and of the outmost quality. The person will ensure that services for children provided within child friendly spaces and multifunctional mobile teams are of outmost quality. The person will work closely with child protection service providers, case managers, MHPSS facilitators to ensure child protection component of the project is of paramount quality. The role will require close collaboration with local implementing partners and Street Child project team. The hired person will contribute to day-to-day implementation of the project in Donetsk, Sumy, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson oblasts.

This role is opened to implement project funded by Ukrainian Humanitarian Fund (project number 34832).

Part 2:  Key Responsibilities:

• Under guidance of Project Manager ensure project implementation,

• Contribute to the planning, organization, coordination and control of project activities,

• Identify gaps and areas of improvement of the project and provide appropriate actions,

• Provide data analysis for review and reporting purposes,

• In close collaboration with M&E team, support monitoring and evaluation activities of the project,

• Provide technical support to partners on child protection matters,

• Provide technical support for the case management service in the field of child protection, including case review in the Primero system,

• Contribute to trainings delivery, provide input in improvement of the skills of project personnel in the field of Child Protection,

• Support case managers of the implementing partners in preparation of activities, scheduling events, monitoring of project activities,

• Assistance in planning the work of child friendly spaces and mobile teams of implementing partners,

• Support collection of evidence of project implementation and its success, including statistical data and case stories,

• File documentation

• Contribute to timely and quality assured reporting to the donor,

• Work closely with implementing partners of the project on distribution of cash for protection to affected population.

• Closely collaborate with the partners’ social workers to ensure regular follow up of case files of children at risk

• Cooperate with partners to ensure the project is implemented timely and its deliverables of the outmost quality.

• Provide technical and administrative support throughout all stages of the project 

• Support Project Manager in assessing partner training and capacity building needs

• Organise and conduct training sessions for partners in areas of improvement of the project. Contribute to developing of training materials

• Support information sharing among the project actors

• Contribute to coordination and liaising between Street Child, other agencies, local government, Child Protection cluster partners in regards to Street Child’s Child Protection programme 

• Support Project Manager in pepresenting Street Child at various stakeholder meetings, including cluster meetings, working group meetings

• Carry out all reasonable requests that are within the broad remit of the role

• Strong commitment to Street Childs vision, mission, and values

• Adhere to all Street Child’s policies and procedures 

• Able to represent Street Child appropriately both internally and externally

Part 3:  Person Specification       

Experience and Knowledge

  • Previous working experience in humanitarian field, working in complex and volatile contexts
  • At least one year of experience working in a project aims to support child well-being including Child Protection, Mental Health, or Psychosocial Support with a similar level of responsibilities 
  • Experience working with Office tools
  • Experience working in project with component of case management is beneficial
  • Working knowledge of humanitarian standards and principles is beneficial
  • Demonstrable experience working closely with national/local NGOs in Ukraine is beneficial.

Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of project control and implementation 
  • Proven capabilities in working in team, excellent interpersonal, listening and communication skills
  • Excellent organisational abilities 
  • Demonstrated experience to work under pressure and tight deadlines 
  • Able and willing to travel, sometimes in insecure environments
  • Ability to set tasks, priorities and achieve them in time
  • A ‘can-do’ attitude 
  • Excellent written and spoken Ukrainian language skills 
  • Written and spoken English language skills 
  • Proficiency in time management 
  • Experience on presenting information to a group of people, delivering presentations or training is beneficial.
