Crisis in Ukraine

HelpAge has been operating in Ukraine since 2014. Our team consists of more than 600 people, including employees, volunteers and contractors. Our response plan includes cash assistance, food distribution, distribution of non-food items, health kits and dignity, support in access to medical services, care and support, hygiene and care products, protection, psychological and psychosocial first aid.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Organizes work together with project specialistssocial workers to identify candidates in the locations for inclusion in the survey list and further selection of beneficiaries and keeps records of elderly people in the locations in accordance with the selection criteria. 
  • Coordinates and conducts the procedure for assessing the needs of beneficiaries (recipients of social services) taking into account age, gender and the presence of disabilities.
  • Defines the list of necessary social services, forms and methods of social work. 
  • Prepares and submits proposals to the Project Manager regarding the need to provide social services in order to make an appropriate decision. 
  • Drafts a contract for the provision of social services and ensures the maintenance of the necessary documentation in accordance with the State Standards for the provision of social services.
  • Organizes the maintenance of documentation on the provision of social services by personnel in the project locations.
  • Conducts training of social workers, project specialists on the provision of social services and maintenance documentation.
  • Monitors and evaluates the quality of the provision of social services in locations.
  • Establishes professional relationships with communal providers of social services, other partner organizations in the locations.
  • Increases his professional level and general cultural competence. Adheres to ethics, respects the dignity of the beneficiary - the recipient of social services. Constantly improves his professional level.

About the candidate for the position:

You must be a citizen of Ukraine

Basic requirements:

  • First-level higher education with a bachelor's degree and a specialty in the relevant field of knowledge, preferably with work experience in the social protection system of the population/NGO profile positions (bachelor's degree in social work, specialist in social work, social worker)
  • Fluency in the state language, keeping business documentation and performing professional duties
  • Proficiency in English at a level sufficient for communication and correspondence is desirable.

Preferred:

  • experience working with elderly people and/or people with disabilities;
  • knowledge of international humanitarian standards;
