Representation HelpAge International has been present in Ukraine since 2014. The total number of staff is more than 250 people, including full-time employees and volunteers/contractors. As one of the few NGOs with an operational presence in Ukraine, we were able to quickly respond to the current crisis by launching rescue operations in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions. We are also increasing the volume of assistance in the central and western regions of Ukraine. Our response plan includes cash assistance, food distribution, non-food/hygiene kit distribution, access to water, sanitation and hygiene facilities, protection and emergency mental health and psychosocial support.
We are looking for enthusiastic, talented candidates for the position of a specialist who will manage Community Leisure Centers for the elderly to further strengthen our team in Ukraine.< /p>
Key areas of influence and responsibility:
The Project Specialist manages social workers to provide comprehensive support to vulnerable older people according to their needs and capabilities. The Project Specialist oversees the quality of assistance, including the implementation of data protection safeguards and ensuring the handling of assistance requests.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Engagement and support of social workers to implement the project through capacity building, providing group and individual support and ensuring their work is monitored in accordance with HAI security standards and policies;
- Ensuring properprocedures for identifying beneficiaries and public safe places within the community (CPS) - if applicable - in accordance with the HAI policy, vulnerability assessment criteria and guidelines for the work of Community Leisure Centers;
- Planning monthly events and monitoring their implementation with the support of the Project Coordinator;
- Informing the Coordinator of the project regarding any problems that may delay the deadlines or affect the quality of project implementation;
- Control over the use of the beneficiary database by social workers and ensure data protection;
- Participation in trainings from the organization and training of social workers;
- Organization and control of events in the Centers public leisure for the elderly;
- Collection of project documents from social workers and timely transfer to the Project Coordinator in compliance with all data protection rules;
- Ensuring compliance with the organization's policies in the operation of the centers and supporting the Project Coordinator and the monitoring team in responding to complaints when necessary;
- Participation in the preparation of descriptive reports by providing data, summaries, description of problems, achievements, providing photos, etc.;
- Ensuring compliance of the activities of social workers with quantitative and qualitative indicators with the support of the MEAL team;
- Providing social workers with information about existing services and assistance (medical, psychological, legal, social), which can be obtained from local organizations, partners and other institutions - to refer beneficiaries to points of provision of the necessary assistance;
- Conducting regular supervisory meetings with social workers to discuss activity planning, feedback, problems, case analysis (at least 2 times a month);
- Joining of efforts within the framework of HelpAge, including Ukrainian, regional and technical teams, as well as local authorities and other subjects of NGOs / NGOs in the areas of responsibility, in order to ensure coordination and avoiding duplication;
- Facilitating mapping and cross-checking of beneficiary lists with other humanitarian organizations in coordination with protection and monitoring and evaluation departments.

Basic requirements:- higher education in the field of social work or related fields;
- at least one year of work experience in national or international non-governmental organizations in the humanitarian field or in national social services;
- excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- flexibility and ability to work under tight deadlines
Preferred:
- availability of training or experience in the field of social work;
- experience working with elderly people and/or people with disability;
- knowledge of international humanitarian standards.
