ASB currently has a portfolio of more than 100 projects in countries such as Bangladesh, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Haiti, Indonesia, Iraq, Kosovo, Nepal, Nicaragua, Niger, Philippines, Serbia and Ukraine.
ASB has been implementing humanitarian interventions in Ukraine since the beginning of the conflict in 2014. Following the full-scale invasion of Ukraine by Russia in February 2022, ASB has increased its humanitarian operations to respond to the multiple needs of the war-affected population of Ukraine. Our team is committed to providing multi-sectoral humanitarian aid in the areas of basic needs, food security, hygiene, winterization, health and psychosocial support. This includes in-kind assistance as well as cash components and social services provided in cooperation with local partners.
ASB in Ukraine is currently seeking applications from qualified and dedicated professionals for the position of Project Officer.

Overall purpose of the role:
Project Officer provides comprehensive support to the Project Manager (PM) in coordinating, implementing, and monitoring project activities in collaboration with internal teams and implementing partners. The role ensures smooth communication with local authorities and stakeholders, supports reporting and documentation processes, facilitates effectivepartner oversight, and contributes to needs assessments and program visibility, thereby ensuring the successful delivery and compliance of project interventions.
The Project Officer performs the following tasks:
- Support Project Manager (PM) in project coordination / management activities with internal team and implementing partners.
- Support with organization and participate in the meetings with local authorities and other relevant stakeholders at field level, support with the translation during the meetings
- Draft and ensure ASB reports to the clusters and if needed to participate in relevant cluster meetings
- Support PM and team with regular monitoring of partners on-going activities and provide feedbacks and recommendations to PM
- Participate and contribute to kick-off and other regular program meetings and take minutes during the meetings
- Assist PM with contracts and MoUs (memorandums of understanding), other relevant to the projects documents and presentations preparation, monitoring, filing system, archiving
- Support the PM in monitoring the progress of projects and drafting of the project reports (monthly/quarterly/interim/final), MoUs, and agreements (if needed)
- Assist PM in coordination of the project activities with team of Cash Program Officer (BNFs selection process, data collection etc), Project engineer (Repair/revamping works, equipment donations), Health officer (Equipment donations, training activities), Grant specialist income generation activities (training, grants submission), MEAL officer, support departments.
- Participate and contribute to the needs assessment
- Ensure the visibility of ASB and donors during distributions and other activities.
- Fulfil any other tasks assigned by the line manager
Requirements:
- University Degree in Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, including project management, economy, engineering or another relevant field.
- Experience: 2-3 years of experience in project management and coordination with partners preferably in humanitarian field.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with and within multi-cultural teams.
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task and to respond to changing situations flexibly.
- Understanding of humanitarian principles (Core Humanitarian Standards, Sphere Minimum Standards, etc.).
- Understanding of humanitarian program cycle, project life cycle Excellent presentation abilities, report writing, communication and as well as analytical and problem-solving, goal oriented, organisational skills.
- Flexible and adaptable approach to work.
- Written and spoken fluency in Ukrainian. Knowledge of English (written and spoken) C1, C2. Excellent command of common computer programs (MS Office, especially Excel and Word functions, PowerPoint).
