Position Summary:

The Project Associate, Counterproliferation will provide administrative support and complete project-related tasks for a team implementing counter proliferation programming, specifically focused on cyber security and critical infrastructure protection, supporting international nonproliferation norms and countering malign proliferator state influence and aggression.

Programming will include strengthening cybersecurity of chemical and critical infrastructure government entities and laboratories, academia sectors to identify and respond to emerging threats. 

Programming activities may take the form of meetings, workshops, trainings, conferences, grant-making, research competitions, email campaigns, or other activities, both in-person and virtual. Under the supervision of a Senior Project Lead, the Project Associate will manage the technical, financial, and administrative aspects of assigned projects to meet CRDF Global and funder objectives. 

This position is based in CRDF Global’s office in Kyiv, Ukraine.  


Major Responsibilities:

  • Support research, planning, and organizational tasks for counterproliferation programming.
  • Support the Project Leads in working with subject matter experts to design, develop, and implement in-person and online counterproliferation-related trainings, events, and capacity building programs.
  • Provide administrative support for programs, including budget tracking, materials development, internal and external communication.
  • Draft correspondence and communicates with stakeholders including funders, subject matter experts, Ukrainian and international partners in academia, public and private sector to coordinate activities.
  • Draft documents including memos, meeting notes, event readouts, project reports, and evaluation reports.
  • Oversee document and information management to ensure records and databases, including electronic and physical files, are current and complete.
  • Support program or organization-wide initiatives.
  • Support other programs and staff, as required.
  • Travel within Ukraine and internationally as appropriate.
  • Other duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field;
  • 2+ years of progressively responsible work experience in managing donor-funded programming; 
  • Ability to work in a collaborative environment with multiple internal and external stakeholders;
  • Ability to remain flexible and adapt to change;
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills;
  • Strong sense of teamwork and interpersonal skills;
  • Professional fluency in English, Ukrainian;
  • Ukraine work authorization.

Preferred:

  • Experience working in donor-funded projects, especially for the U.S. government or multilateral institutions;
  • Experience working with a non-profit organization;
  • Background, knowledge or familiarity with the counterproliferation, cyber security, critical infrastructure protection fields;
  • Experience in qualitative research and data analysis.
