Main duties:

< li>

Expense management of the project:

• Keeping detailed and accurate financial records of all expenses related to the project, including purchases and donor activities.

• Control and tracking of project budgets, ensuring compliance of costs with approved budgets and financial policy.

• Identifying and reporting on deviations from the budget, providing recommendations for timely solution.

• Supporting project managers in developing and adjusting budgets based on actual and projected costs.

• Financial Reporting:

  • Preparation of regular financial reports on expenses, budget utilization and projected expenses ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

  • Maintenance of complete financial documentation operations to prepare for the audit.

  • Providing financial summaries and updates to internal and external stakeholders, focusing on key trends and risks.

• Compliance with requirements and risk management:

  • Ensuring compliance of financial activities with local and international regulations, including reporting according to donor programs.

  • Control of compliance with internal financial policies.

  • Participation in risk assessment of financial activity of projects and support of internal and external audits.

• Collaboration with cross-functional teams:

  • Interaction with teams from procurement, legal and compliance specialists for regulatory compliance requirements.

  • Collaboration with finance and accounting teams to integrate project costs into the overall financial statements of the organization.

  • Providing financial data to project and operational teams for planning and execution of tasks.

  • Execution of other accounting tasks as assigned manager.

Requirements:

• Work experience from 3 years in similar positions. For example, project accountant, project controller, project financial analyst, budget analyst, budgeting economist, financial project manager, financial process coordinator.

• Work experience in the field of industrial equipment supply, mechanisms, devices, spare parts, logistics, procurement, import, foreign trade (foreign economic activity), large domestic industrial projects, international projects in the production or defense industry, in international teams.

• Sure knowledge of financial standards and reporting methods.

• Availability of letters of recommendation and/or willingness to provide contacts of recommenders.

• Availability of professional diplomas, certificates. 

• Fluency in English (B2+).

• Fluency in Latvian is welcome.

Position Overview:

Edge Autonomy is seeking a skilled and proactive Project Accountant, < /strong>who assists Supply Chain Manager to lead and optimize supply chain operations in Ukraine. This role focuses on enhancing logistics to, from, and within Ukraine, overseeing procurement, and managing inventory to ensure the efficient and cost-effective flow of materials, spare parts, and products that support our local operations. The position also manages supervising all necessary documentation to ensure compliance with legal requirements for the movement of goods.
 
Basic duties:

• Project Cost Management:

Maintain detailed and accurate financial records for all project-related expenditures, including procurement and donation activities. 

Monitor and track project budgets, ensuring expenses align with approved budgets and financial policies. 

Identify and report cost variances, providing actionable insights to stakeholders for timely intervention. 

Support project managers in developing and revising project budgets based on actual and forecasted costs. 

• Financial Reporting: 

Prepare regular financial reports on project expenditures, budget utilization, and forecasted costs, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. 

Ensure comprehensive documentation of all financial transactions for audit readiness. 

Provide financial summaries and updates to internal and external stakeholders, highlighting key trends and risks. 

• Compliance and Risk Management:

Ensure all financial activities comply with local and international regulations, including donation-related reporting requirements. 

Monitor compliance with internal financial policies. 

Assist in risk assessment for project-related financial activities and support internal and external audits. 

•Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams:

Partner with Procurement, Legal, and Compliance teams to address regulatory requirements. 

Collaborate with Finance and Accounting teams to integrate project-related costs into organizational financial statements. 

Support project management and operations teams with financial insights to aid in planning and executionion.
