IOM implements humanitarian, development and peacebuilding programs in close partnership with the government, civil society, the UN and international partners.

About the role

Assistant of Program Support will join the Programme Support Unit (Partnerships) to support project development, donor reporting and coordination with IOM Ukraine program teams.
This role will directly impact the quality of engagement with donors and help raise funding for programs supporting vulnerable groups in Ukraine.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Support the mission in regular updating of donor information: donor profiles, priorities, funding cycles (for resource mobilization purposes).

  • Participation in project development: preparation and consolidation of concept notes and project proposals in cooperation with program teams and thematic specialists, in accordance with the global IOM framework and IOM Ukraine priorities.

  • Collection, summarization and preparation of contributions to internal and external documents (for donors, regional office, IOM headquarters, partners, etc.).

  • Regular interaction with other divisions of the Program Support Unit, in particular with the Information Management (IM) and MEAL (Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning) teams, to prepare reports, requests, clarifications of data.

  • Assist in the preparation of meetings and events: donor briefings, field visits, conferences (preparation information packages, concept papers, materials for briefings and speeches).

  • Assistance in the formation and organization of program documentation for the purposes of knowledge management.

  • Performance of other tasks as assigned by the manager.

Requirements for the candidate

Education and experience:

  • Higher education (Bachelor's degree or higher) in social sciences, community development, communications, monitoring and evaluation, or related fields.

  • At least 3 years of relevant experience: project/program support, international development, humanitarian or donor programs, analytics or related fields.

  • Program experience development, resource mobilization and/or reporting will be a significant advantage.

Languages:

  • Fluency in Ukrainian and English languages (oral and written).

Competencies and skills:

  • Excellent writing skills: preparation texts, editing, structuring of information.

  • Experience of working with large amounts of information: collection, organization and transfer of data to internal/external stakeholders.

  • Accuracy and professionalism in the preparation of documents (letters, reports, concept notes, analytical materials).

  • Developed communication and interpersonal skills; cultural sensitivity; ability to work with a wide range of partners — from communities to authorities.

  • Ability to work effectively in a multicultural team, in a dynamic and changing environment.

  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), work with databases, e-mail and online tools.

  • Self-organization, ability to work with minimal supervision and within tight deadlines.

  • Interest in the topics of migration, humanitarian response, development and the UN system.

Status in the country:

  • The candidate must be a citizen of Ukraine, a legal resident or a person with refugee status in Ukraine.

Conditions

  • Type of the contract: National UN Volunteer Specialist (full-time).

  • Duration: 6 months with the possibility of extension (if there is funding, operational needs and a satisfactory evaluation of the work).

  • Place of work: Kyiv, IOM office (UN premises).

Financial and other guarantees:

  • Monthly payment Volunteer Living Allowance (VLA) — 1587 USD (equivalent in UAH) to cover living expenses, utilities and basic expenses (taking into account Well-Being Differentials for duty station “E” in Ukraine).

  • One-time payment entry lump sum — 400 USD at start of the contract.

  • Medical insurance for UNV and dependent family members (from the UN Volunteers program).

  • Life insurance for the duration of the contract.

  • Leaves (annual, sick leave, study) - according to UN Volunteers policies.
