Purpose of the position: The program director is responsible for the development and coordination of the program activities of the Red Cross Society of Ukraine. The main goal of the position is to ensure that the organization's programs are relevant, high-quality and effective, meet the real humanitarian needs of people and the strategic priorities of the Ukrainian Red Cross, as well as the principles of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement. The position involves coordinating program areas, supporting teams, implementing common standards and approaches, and strengthening engagement with partners and donors to achieve sustainable impact.   

Basic dutiesConnections:

• Ensuring strategic development and coherence of the program activities of the TCC in accordance with the priorities of the organization and humanitarian needs.  

• Coordination of development, review and implementation of programs and program approaches, standards and procedures.  

• Program quality assurance, including implementation monitoring, timely response to risks and context changes.  

• Management and support of program teams, development of management and professional capabilities of personnel.  

• Ensuring effective interaction between program departments and with other units of the organization.  

 

• Helping to attract resources and develop partnerships to implement programs.  

• Ensuring accountability and reporting for program activities in accordance with internal and partner requirements.

• To adhere to the principles of the Red Cross Movement and work in accordance with them. 

• Perform any other work-related tasks and duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.

• At least 5 years of managerial experience. 

• Work experience in humanitarian or non-governmental organizations. 

• Certification in the field of project management (PMD Pro, PRINCE2, PMP, etc.).   

• Ability to analyze and interpret data and track performance against application metrics. 

• Microsoft Office skills. 

• Time management skills. 

• Ability to work independently and perform tasks reliably and competently. 

• Ability to communicate with partners and colleagues at different levels. 

• Fluency in the Ukrainian language. 

• Proficiency in English at a level sufficient for conducting business communication and preparing documentation. 

• Excellent communication skills. 

• Ability to cooperate and work in a team. 

• The ability to make decisions. 

• Ability to work with partners, contractors, and local organizations. 

• Ability to apply non-standard/innovative solutions in work. 

• Ability to build trust. 

• Participation in the process ofstrategic planning.
