Production manager of FPV drones and initiation boards in VATAGA DRONE

The company VATAGA DRONE was founded in 2022 in Ukraine. We specialize in the development and mass production of FPV drones, initiation boards and ground control stations.

The main activity of the company is focused on the creation of effective solutions for the front - from engineering design and testing to well-established mass production.

What is important for this role:

• 2+ years of production management experience (electronics, UAV or related industry)
• Experience of managing a team of 10 or more (foremen, assemblers, solderers)
• Understanding of SMD/DIP soldering processes, assembly of electronic devices, working with boards
• Skills of production planning, inventory management and logistics of components
• Experience in building or optimizing a quality control system
• Ability to work with production documentation, BOM, technical drawings
• Knowledge of the principles of Lean Manufacturing, 5S or similar methodologies
• Responsibility, systematicity, result orientation
• Willingness to work in a fast-paced and changing environment priorities

Would be an advantage:

• Experience with FPV drones or deep understanding of their component base
• Experience in the defense industry
• Experience scaling production from small series to high volumes
• Experience in 3D printing management (FDM/SLA): planning, maintenance, optimization
• Understanding of requirements for dual purpose products and working with explosive chains
• Technical education (electronics, radio engineering, instrumentation)
• Knowledge of ERP/MES systems for production management

Tasks:

• Manage the full production cycle of FPV drones: assembly, assembly of boards, preparation for mass production.

• Plan production and ensure the fulfillment of plan/actual indicators and schedules within specified deadlines.

• Build and maintain a quality control system: input control of components > operational control > output testing/acceptance.

• Organize output control after testing: detection of defects, rapid corrective actions, reduction of defects.

• Optimize costs and increase efficiency: reduce waste, reduce cost, increase productivity.

• Manage the direction of 3D printing: queue/priority planning, quality control of parts, supply of materials, minimization of equipment downtime

in interaction with R&D/R&D-Prod: documentation, pilot batches, manufacturability, feedback and design improvements.

• Coordinate procurement/stock/quality: component requirements with regard to lead time, critical inventory control, regular reporting to COO and Commercial Director.
