Nova Poshta is the leader of express delivery in Ukraine. Our team is constantly growing and we are currently looking for: "Product Manager" forcustoms brokerage operations.

MISSION OF THE ROLE:Build a transparent, predictable and scalable customs clearance product for Nova Post shipments worldwide. Make customs invisible to the client: automate declaration, integrate customs brokers into a single product flow and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements in key markets of presence (EU, UK, USA, Canada). Transform customs clearance from an operational pain into a competitive advantage for Nova Post.

EXCEPTIONS:Improve the customer experience in the customs clearance area

  • Reduce the number of support calls related to customs clearance.
  • Achieve a certain level of customer NPS at the point of customs clearance.
  • Ensure proactive notification of customers about the status of customs clearance — without the need for independent tracking.
  • Reduce the share of returns due to incorrectly completed declarations.

REQUIREMENTS:

  •  In-depth examination of customs operations to/from Ukraine. Has practical experience with customs clearance of shipments from Ukraine and to Ukraine: knows declaration procedures, classification of goods (UKT codes of ZED), role of customs broker, reasons for delays and returns. Understands the difference between customs clearance of B2C and B2B shipments. Familiar with the work of the State Customs Service of Ukraine.
  • Understanding the regulatory environment and risks. Orients itself in the customs legislation of Ukraine and key trading partners. Able to assess regulatory risks when introducing new products to the market — prohibited goods, duty-free import limits, documentation requirements. Able to quickly adapt the product to changes in legislation.
  • Responsibility for business results and unit economics. Responsible for the economics of the customs product: cost of processing, margin of brokerage contracts, impact on the overall economics of the shipment. Makes decisions through the lens of ROI and long-term financial impact, not local convenience.
  • Leadership through impact. Is a point of balance between product, operations, legal, IT and customs brokers. Able to negotiate in the face of regulatory uncertainty, defuse cross-departmental tension, and champion simple, scalable solutions without formal pressure.
  • Communication at the management level. Clearly explains to management the decisions, risks and trade-offs between launch speed, compliance and customer experience. Translates regulatory complexity into business language and specific product solutions.

Will be a plus:

  • Knowledge of EU > UK, USA, Canada customs regimes. Understands the specifics of customs clearance when crossing the border between the EU and Great Britainpost-Brexit rules of origin (rules of origin, EORI, GB EORI, DAP/DDP conditions), as well as import regimes in the US (de minimis $800, CBP, ISF-filing) and Canada (CBSA, CARM, de minimis CAD $20/$150). Knows the differences in documentation requirements, prohibited goods and customs duties in these jurisdictions.
  • Product flow and PM practices. Understands the full product cycle: Customer Discovery > Problem Definition > MVP > Scale. Able to prioritize backlog by business effect (RICE, ICE or similar), form hypotheses and test them through measurable effects. Has experience working in agile/scrum teams.
  • Data-driven approach. Builds solutions based on data: analyzes the causes of customs delays, errors in declarations, returns. Able to formulate and track product success metrics. Comfortable working with BI tools.
  • Experience working with customs brokers as product partners. Has experience in building or developing partnerships with customs brokers not only as service providers, but also as participants in the product flow: API integration, standardization, SLA, joint development.

We offer you:

  • Official employment, "white" salary, paid holidays, sick leave, business trips;
  • Medical insurance;
  • Friendly team;
  • Opportunity for career growth.

If all this is about you and you want to become a part of New Mail — send your resume with wishes for the level of financial reward.
