Job DescriptionAs a Principal Server Engineer in the Wix Fintech group, you'll architect and develop scalable payment solutions that power millions of businesses worldwide. You'll take ownership of complex distributed systems and mentor engineering teams to shape the future of our global payment platform.In your day-to-day, you will:Architect high-performance payment processing microservices using ScalaLead critical technical initiatives across provider integrations and system optimizationsMentor engineering teams on distributed systems and scalable architecture patternsDrive technical decisions for mission-critical payment infrastructure componentsDesign solutions for international payment methods and regulatory requirementsDevelop public APIs enabling third-party integrations with Wix PaymentsScale microservices architecture to handle growing transaction volumesQualifications8+ years of experience in backend development, with a proven track record of building large-scale distributed systemsStrong knowledge of system design principles, concurrency patterns, and distributed architectureExperience driving technical decisions and mentoring engineering teamsExcellent problem-solving skills and ability to debug complex production issuesStrong communication skills and ability to collaborate across multiple teams and stakeholdersExperience with Scala - an advantagePrior fintech or payments industry experience - an advantageAdditional InformationWe are Wix's Backend Engineering Guild.
