Our solutions, caliber of talent and industry accolades prove it.As a Senior Platform Engineer (Private Cloud) you will help build and operate our private cloud infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, cost efficiencies, security and operational best practices are maintained. You will be working as part of a team alongside our Platform Engineering team to ensure our to continuously support and modernize the backbone of Carbon60 Private Cloud.Your focus: Building complex, highly-available cloud architectures using infrastructure as code (IaC) best practices in a 24/7 work environmentDesign and implement technical solutions that meet business needs, adhering to best practice designsBuilding and deploying automation pipelines (for example CI/CD) for infrastructure and network/security workflowsCreating automation, orchestration, testing, or other codified solutions aligning to applied DevOps concepts to accelerate efficiencies for our private cloud operations.Troubleshoot security, networking and infrastructure issues including working on root cause analysis.Supporting project team members by sharing best practices, providing technical mentoring, and doing code/design reviews as neededActing as a subject matter expert in an engineering domain to provide consultation, best practice guidance, designs, and reviewsWhat you bring: 10+ years of experience in information technology, preference for infrastructure and platform services automation2+ years of experience with engineering and supporting containerization technology (e.g., OpenShift, Kubernetes, EKS/GKE). 4+ years of experience with building automation and executing automation pipelines (such as CI/CD) and following DevOps practicesExperience with IaC tools such as TerraformExperience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell, shell scripting, etc.) to automate routine operational tasksStrong understanding of networking and network security conceptsStrong understanding of operating systems (Windows and Linux), storage services, databases, queuing systems, and caching systemsExperience with change management, SDLC, and operationalizing solutionsExperience troubleshooting failures, performance issues, and access problems using a variety of diagnostic tools, logs, and metricsUnderstanding of SRE concepts, building highly available and scalable systems, and building disaster recovery solutions and runbooksStrong understanding of security best practices (including identity and access management, encryption, vulnerability detection and remediation, principles of least privilege, cloud security models, etc.)Experience writing documentation such as design documents, runbooks and architectural diagramsExpert-level knowledge with 3+ years of experience in a specific engineering domainPrevious experience in a 24/7 rotation on callWhat’s in it for YOU: An opportunity to grow with a reputable organization that is on track for hyper growth.Work with a knowledgeable, supportive, and empowering team of true cloud experts.Flexibility: at Carbon60, we strive to foster a workplace culture where the employee/employer relationship is mutually beneficial.
