PHYSIOTHERAPIST
Doctors without borders/ Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF) is an international humanitarian organization that provides assistance in more than 60 countries of the world to the population in a difficult situation, victims of natural disasters, man-made disasters and armed conflicts, regardless of their race, religion or political beliefs.

Main purpose:
As prescribed by a doctor, to plan and carry out individual programs of treatment measures, assessing the physical condition of the beneficiary, with the aim of maintaining, improving or rehabilitating the physical health of the beneficiary and preventing physical disabilities.
Responsibilities:
- Assess the beneficiary's physical capabilities using various diagnostic procedures (eg perform functional capacity testing) in order to determine treatment goals with the beneficiary and thereby improve their health and well-being.
- Develop and implement a physical therapy treatment plan, including physical therapy, strengthening, stretching, manual therapy, prevention of immobility complications (eg, contractures, amyotrophies, bedsores, respiratory disorders, etc.), gait rehabilitation, analgesia, and specific treatments such as neurorehabilitation, stump treatment, and scars, etc.
- Provide therapeutic education to beneficiaries by making them the subjects of their own rehabilitation, give them exercises to perform (eg, strengthening exercises, self-bandaging, self-healing of scars, etc.), teach them how to use assistive devices and orthopedic equipment, educate and counsel them and their caregivers on how to prevent and/or improve conditions in order to accelerate and improvement of treatment results.
- Educate beneficiaries and caregivers on how to avoid injuries to develop preventive behaviors.
- Inform the beneficiary about complications that may occur in the early and late stages; to inform him about the terms of recovery and about preventive behavior to improve results.
- Actively monitor and report on physiotherapy activities (correctly fill out beneficiary cards, forms, statistics and reports), and to analyze these statistical data in order to improve the quality of services, while maintaining the traceability of beneficiary data.
- Work closely with members of the multidisciplinary team (e.g., psychologists, nurses, physicians) on each of the beneficiary cases to apply a biopsychosocial approach to their recovery plan.
- Participate in project and multidisciplinary team meetings.
- Participate in weekly physical therapy training sessions conducted by the manager, supervisor or other organizers; demonstrate a willingness to improve practical skills, knowledge and improve the overall results of the rehabilitation provided.
- Take care of physiotherapy equipment, monitor its stock, refer to the activity manager of the physical therapist team when it is necessary to make an order according to the activity, clean the equipment to ensure its constant availability and the quality of services provided.
- Report to the technical referent about any problems that arise during the work and provision of services, especially about the loss/theft/damage of medical equipment or medicines, in order to take appropriate measures.
- Supervise, train and delegate non-specific tasks to physical therapist assistants.

Location: the first 2 months of work - the city of Dnipro/Zaporizhia with future relocation to the city of Poltava, etc.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
- Required: formal diploma/degree in physical therapy.
Experience:
- Preferred: 12 months of post-graduate work experience in the field of physical therapy (Master's degree).
- Experience in MSF or other non-governmental organizations in developing countries is preferred.
Knowledge of languages: fluency in the Ukrainian language; knowledge of the English language at the B2 level is desirable.
Competencies: Orientation on results, working in a multidisciplinary team, flexibility, dedication, quality service delivery, willingness to learn.
