PHP Developer (Back-end) in Englishdom

Who are we?

Not just an online English school. We are an EdTech product for learning English. For 10+ years, we have been teaching English so that every Ukrainian can achieve his goal or dream — to change his life, get an offer in his dream company, move or even find his match!

Platform for lessons, apps, simulators - our product does not stand still therefore, we are currently looking for a PHP Developer (Back-End) to strengthen our IT team!

What needs to be done?

• Maintain and develop existing services using LEMP;
• Develop APIs for client applications and services;
• Analyze and optimize server / client infrastructure;
• Search and use effective web technologies to solve simple and complex problems.

Main stack:

• PHP 7.3 / 8.2
• Frameworks (Zend 2, Symphony 5.4, Laminas)
• MySQL, MongoDB
• API Development
• RabbitMQ, Redis, Kafka docker, docker-compose, docker swarm
• Ansible, Nginx
• Networking, Security, Protocols
• Logs (Graylog etc)
• Microservices

Must have:< /b>

• PHP+MySQL work experience from 4 years;
• Practical application of OOP (SOLID, GRASP) and design patterns;
• Experience working with popular frameworks (Zend, Symphony, Laminas);
• Ability to write Unit tests;
• Ability to write API tests;
• Understanding the basic principles of refactoring and clean code .

It will be a plus:

• Availability of personal or participation in opensource projects;
• Knowledge of modern software architectures (MVC, MVVM, ADR, Microservices, 12 Factor Applications, Asynchronous application, Continuous Integration / Deployment etc.);
• Experience of working with virtualization systems ( docker);
• Ability to work with requirements (Analysis / Decomposition);
• Understanding Agile methodologies;
• Experience using GitHub Copilot.
